Will miss Heather signing the anthems. We were spoiled to have her do it for so long.

This. He was incredible. For the last game at the Forum, they played him on the scoreboard. Terrific singer. For the Canada Cup in 76, I think he learned every anthem.

Loved Heather, beautiful lady with a beautiful voice.

Sucks to lose her, she just sang the anthem and kept it simple. I can't stand seeing how the anthem is sung in other cities.

Good for her to focus on her family, considering how many kids she has!

Sad to see her go.
Precisely.

Definitely my favorite anthem singer in the NHL. I'll always remember how overjoyed I was when she accepted my drunken friend request on Facebook, and then my subsequent disappointment to creep her photos and discover that she was happily married.

Eric Francis tweets that a big name will replace her.

Jann Arden?
Paul Brandt?
George Canyon?

While Heather did a good job, I found her singing to be quite boring. Quite frankly if I was a player and listened to her it would make me fall asleep because of the lack of emotion. Which is bad considering that you want players to get pumped. The anthem at a Blackhawks game is insane and probably one of the coolest things I ever experienced. More importantly it rev'd me up for the game. I hope we can get someone who gets the atmosphere higher than Heather did. I felt like it was a church choir instead of a hockey game.

Talk about an unfair comparison. The Balckhawks fans rev up before Jim Cornelison says a word... if you replace Cornelison with Heather in front of that fan base you'll have the very same jolt... It isn't Heather's fault that the Saddledome was once refereed to as the Library

What happens in Chicago isn't because of the singer, the fans are already bringing the emotion and Cornelison just needs to put the exclamation point on it.. and he does

Same but just throwing the name out there. The crowd was too loud to hear, but I understand she was a disaster in the 04 playoffs.

Everything is changing. Pretty much nothing that's standard is the same from the previous era.

i enjoyued listening to her perform the anthem rather than take artistic license with it, but retirement - from a job where she only had to know two songs and drive to work about 45 times per year only to put in a solid 5 minutes of performance time.......

maybe her replacement will be that calgary chick ripping up the electornica scene in europe - can't remember her name.

I agree, it has to be Tara Sloan that Francis is hinting at.

Francis said "nope. Good try though." to someone who suggested Tara on twitter.

Never know though
