It could have been worse. That is pretty tame compared to what I have seen on Winnipeg Transit, back in the day. Some examples:

Where on the clip could you tell he was at fault for anything? They were certainly mad at each other, but the incident itself was not on film.

His bag was still occupying a seat.

What ridiculous behavior. That is a guy that needs his ass kicked. Sometimes that's what people need to maybe act with a bit more respect.

I cannot see the bag at all.

She apparently made allegations that he was violent, including that he stomped on her foot and pushed her into a crowd of people, yet on video only argues about a bag on a seat and a footprint on her shoe, which is odd to me. Why wouldn't she be getting as far away from this violent guy as possible? At the point someone is assaulted, would the subject now change to seeking help or calling the police?

The other so called statement from her implied some nonsense about police incompetence. This story from start to finish could just be another 'zero tip' story.

I really don't want to defend the guy, but the internet could easily ruin his life when he has had no chance to defend himself. For all we know he got on an empty bus, put his bag on the seat and surfed the net, something that we all do on transit. Next thing you know some lady is giving him crap for the bag on the seat. Or, it could have been the opposite, like her story suggests. We simply don't know. I think the video takes away from her story, to be honest.

Here is just one of several stories like this where the accuser was found to be making the story up, much after the damage was already done:

Sure, but he simply would still be in the wrong because he didn't move his bag. Even if she, for whatever reason, was rude to him from the start a simple "sorry" and moving over for her would have been pretty much the only correct response.

She mentions the bag in the video.

Regardless of the bag, he is being a complete #######. Even if he didn't assault her, he deserves to be shamed for his behaviour.

He is on a crowded bus and his bag is on a seat and he refuses to move it.

In that situation, you shouldn't even have to be asked to move your bag.

Like I said, based on the clip, I don't care much for either of them. But on the scale of selfish dick moves, he edges it for me.

He should have that middle finger broken. He wouldn't even look at her.

The guy is soft. He is extremely lucky it wasn't a guy asking to move his bag.

No, I just originally read the story and was a little miffed at this goofball. But instead of editing my post I figured I would just make fun of my internet-tough-guying.

That and I have been on knowyourmeme.com for like 4 hours at the office amusing myself.

The guy is clearly a self absorbed delta bravo.....I am assuming that he woman in question would have had no issues with him if he had left the seat available like a normal human being would have.......

Sorry, I don't see any of that in the video. I think many people are filling in the blanks between the original story that she provided and the video. Do I see people standing on a bus? Yes. Do I know there are no other seats? No. Do I know those people did not just get on the bus and he was instantly confronted about the bag? Did he put the bag there so she couldn't sit next to him? At this point we really don't know anything, except for the fact this guy is plastered all over the world, and based on just this thread, people already hate him.

I don't doubt the story sits somewhere between he is a total loser and she is a wacky lady, but from what I have seen so far, she made up a portion of the story. This guy has not made a statement.

The fact there is a 'witness' that won't come forward and there are a dozen or so other people there that have not come forward make the whole thing fishy.

Besides that, I usually do not take transit to work, but I have on occasion. My experience on transit is going to Flames games. There are certainly bags on seats, which is rude if someone is looking to sit.

There are usually bags on seats when I travel, but when seats fill up, you move your bag. You shouldn't even have to be asked. The seats are for passengers, they aren't storage space.

There have been many occasions over the years where I've seen someone leave their bags on seats at the expense of others having to stand.

People that do that are DBs. The indications are that pretty strong that this guy fits into that category.
