I was always anti-minivan. Once we had two kids my wife traded her SUV for a Toyota Sienna XLE Limited. That was in 2004 and she is still driving it. I don't remember exactly but it was probably close to 40K then but came fully loaded with leather, heated seats, entertainment package etc etc.
It has been on many a long road trip throughout the US, hauled drywall & plywood, and needed very little maintenance. Over the last few years with kids getting a bit older the third row seating has been invaluable with driving kids friends, bday parties, sports etc... The dvd player with cordless earphones is awesome. We can listen to music & kids watch movies without bothering each other.
We have talked about getting rid of it that last couple years but just never see the need to 'pull the trigger.' Whenever we do move from the van, the next wife vehicle will stay have third row seating.
