It could, but it might not be needed and my post is speculation.

Nothing against his style of play, its simply his size. Lack of size makes the defensive zone coverage allot tougher...

For example a team like the Kings.... would be a major problem for Gaudreau.

Just watch Gaudreau's grand theft puck display during his defensive wizardy at the WHC's. He undressed some sap on the Czech team, I think it was. Took the puck from a fast-skating opponent and created a scoring chance in the opponent's zone in the blink of an eye.

I think Reinhart and Wotherspoon are very likely. I picked Gaudreau as my other selection just because he is the best of the rest. Though he could likely stand some time in the AHL.

I think everyone can see that both of those numbers are not real

I picked Gaudreau, Reinhart and Wotherspoon. My reasoning being that all 3 in my opinion have a certain intelligence, maturity and refinement to their games. Tough choice between Sven and Johnny but I give Johnny an edge because his hockey sense is on another level. Reinhart has some experience under his belt, can play physical, can probably step into any role the team gives him and run with it. Wotherspoon as far as the D-men go seems to be the most NHL ready defensively.

Really cool poll I must say, especially with so many great prospects pushing to make it.

I would bet Gaudreau is fairly close to 5'6" and his playing weight is very low.

Not sure if the Flames have had a player on their roster who played at a similar weight..

Gaudreau(2nd line LW)
Reinhart (3rd line C)

Wotherspoon (6th defenceman partnered with Smid)

Boston College and the NHL disagree with that. 5'9" and 160 according to them, but then who knows what's real. There's no way he's still 5'6" and 140 like he was at 17 when he was drafted

What do you consider close? He's 5'8" 160lbs and I really wish people would just STFU about his size, he's probably the most talented player on the team.

How about just wait till training camp to see how he stacks up.

Gaudreau should come on CP and post his playing height and weight every year, to end all the speculation.

My picks exactly and for almost all the reasons.

Also Gaudreau consistently hustles to get back and be responsible defensively. Seems to be very coachable and not have this 'my way or the highway' mentality that to a minor extent Sven had perhaps shown.

Reinhart seemed to have - while not overly impressive - the most solid all around game, intelligence and maturity of the call ups over the past couple seasons and after last season deserves a much longer look.

Granlund would be my second choice after Gaudreau, but he's still new to north american hockey, and while I think he's ripe for NHL action, a little extra time learning couldn't hurt.

I don't want to be anywhere near this site if Gaudreau gets sent to the AHL.

Either way, he is a very small player..... (i.e. he looks smaller and lighter than Theo Fleury).

My bet he is not 5"8"
