Right now it should be Aggo, Knight or one of the defensemen (I choose Roy). Something weird is definitely going on here...
How has he proven to be NHL ready? The main reason he was in the NHL last season was because he wanted to burn a year of his contract and the Flames didn't want him wait and become a UFA. He was pretty meh in his time on the Flames last year. Agostino will probably have a similar season as Knight did last season, meaning mostly in the AHL.

So... run off poll between Knight, Kulak and Ferland?

For me Ferland has to prove it after his injury. Knight and Agostino had good years and I had Knight over Ferland last year.

Push all 3 through as tied without a runoff and move on, IMO.

No way. There are almost 100 posters who voted for none of the top-three. In a runoff I would expect one to pull enough ahead to eliminate the tie.

I get why people are intrigued by Ferland with the elements he brings to the table, but to be honest, that sample size last season is far too small to get overly excited about. Even Blake Comeau has hot streaks now and then.

Show me he can do that for more than half a season and we'll talk.

I won't attempt to speak for everyone, but I'm excited about Ferland because of how he has developed over the past three years since I have been following him; not because of a hot streak that he had in the AHL this past season. His trajectory from the time he was drafted has been very impressive. He has overcome considerable adversity in the past two years especially, and as a player looked better than ever before he was injured. No, this is about so much more than the small sample size to which you refer. Ferland legitimately looks like a damn good player.

Just closed the poll ... run off will go today, round 15 tomorrow. Not sure I've ever seen a vote that close between 3, 2 yes, but not 3
