You mean like having these retro fitted to ticket people for phone use while driving? I could see them doing that for real at some point years from now(especially for high density areas like downtown).

Thread reminds of this classic clip:

I got reverse bad parked on yesterday.

I had just got my BMW back from the detailer after spending 400 bucks getting a full cut polish a couple door ding removals and a chip repair. I felt great about my car, it looked like it rolled out of a showroom. So I have to stop at Walmart on my way home and grab a few things, and wanting to preserve the car in it's like new, glossy, wet glass looking condition for at least a couple days I park it about 8-10 stalls down from the next car in a totally empty area. There wasn't a car in any direction for probably 100 feet. I come out, and there is a rusty, beat up, POS late 80's, powder blue Thunderbird missing a hub cap parked right next to me.

Not the end of the world, but when you see a relatively nice car, parked all by it's lonesome, in the middle of nowhere, it is kinda an unwritten rule, and mutual understanding that it's usually a car guy, just trying to avoid a door ding or two. Probably just someone RL trolling, but it's just one of those things you don't do.

^Maybe true, but all such rules are thrown out the window when you go to Walmart. That's where you went wrong.

I try and be a good, caring person in life, but for some reason the one thing that always just cracks me up is those people who abuse handicap parking stalls and the subsequent public anger that follows. It always puts a smile on my
face.

In fact this whole thread is just awesome for that. People dying in the middle east, hunger in Africa, but we've got our own war here in calgary.....slightly poor parking!!! Let the shaming begin!

Look at this guy....,,and this guy!!! Ohhh terrible, I hope his kids die......I hope he's hit by a car!!! Oh and look at this fool!!! Ummm it made sense for him to park there as a contractor. Noooooooo, he should have parked across the street and made 12 trips with heavy tools!!!! We're the internet perking warriors, were always right. !!!!!!

Sorry cp I'm drunk. Carry on.

I'm quite bothered if I do a bad park job, so I fix my parking if it sucks.

Hasn't stopped my car from being keyed, door dings and all sorts of wonderful bull#### to my car. There is no justice.

So did they park badly, or was parking next to you the issue?

This is the first time I have heard about not parking next to "nice" vehicles in a parking lot. I usually park far away from building entrances because I don't feel like hunting for a spot. I'll park at the first spot I find after getting into the lot.

Very common, I used to do it all the time when I had cars worth doing it with. Just to try and prevent door dings. I can't count the amount of times I'd park in a back, completely empty part of the lot, only to come back and see one or two vehicles in the very next stalls, despite the lot still being empty and there being dozens of closer parking spots. Just no courtesy. If a nice vehicle parked in a normal spot, yeah park as you would normally. But if it's clearly made an attempt to get away from others, why would anyone park next to it?

I've always wanted to ask those drivers why they do it. I'm sure it's usually not on purpose. I've heard that some bad drivers like to have a car to park next to so they have something to align their car with and get in in straight. Not sure how true that is since I've never had any issues using the lines for that.

I will never double park, but parking next to me is an issue when I've clearly gone out of the way to keep my car away from your POS. Why, when there are many spaces closer, do you have to come park next to me? People just don't give a crap about those of us who have spent money on our cars and clearly care.

LOL some people sure have a lot of extra time on their hands. Going around taking pics of parked cars and tweeting about it. Sounds like a really fulfilling life, guy's probably a riot at parties. "Hey! That lady isn't using a coaster! Hey!! Pay attention to MEEEEEEEEE!!!"

Oh, the old routine about not having better things to do. People instagram their effing food nowadays, I`m totally fine with people tweeting pictures of a holes parking in 3 stalls.

He's got lots of space between his driver's side and car beside him even a heavy set guy can get in. I was so ticked that I have to crawl from the passenger side just to get out of that parking lot. I was pulling out and the guy was coming in. I yelled at him and told him to f-ing take a driver's course in how to park. He just ignored me. Too bad I just took my baseball bat off my car a few days before otherwise I would put a huge f-ing ding on his passenger door.

The first picture in this thread where the car/truck was parked sideways. A couple idiots at work where I used to work at(restaurant). I guess a bunch of them moved my car sideways so I cannot move my car. I came out and was actually in a rush to leave but I can't move. I saw them laughing so I thought, see who's going to be laughing now. I started my car and move forward to hit the chef's car(he's one of the jokester) then backed up and hit the other jokester's car. I keep doing it and you would have seen the look at those idiots and came running to movd their car. After that, they never ever messed with my car ever.

So to punish someone that was doing a non-criminal and slightly annoying offence your response is to do a criminal action (vandalism or hit and run)?

I hope the people witnessing this had you charged. You are the d-bag here.

I can see your point, if there are lots of spaces around you and you're following the urinal stall rules of parking. I don't know if that's always the case though. Like I said, I don't go hunting for parking spots when I go shopping. I would never drive up and down the rows looking for a spot that's closer to the door, rather than just snagging the first sure-thing parking spot I see.

I am sure there are possibly people who think there is a closer spot, and when they realize there isn't, they just immediately pull into whatever stall they are adjacent to, maybe that's next to your car. I don't think it's some trolling attempt by people with not-as-nice cars. In fact, its not even in their best interest - if they get caught dinging the door on a Ferrari, I am pretty sure their insurance rates would skyrocket after having to pay for that damage to be fixed.
