You've never played football. That ball, regardless of whether it was in perfect position, was kickable. It's the kickers job to try to put it thru. The worst result is a DEAD BALL. If the holder tries to take the ball and make a play, the result could be a fumble and a return to the (your) house. Basic risk management says you kick it to get a dead ball at worst. Particularly if you are winning.

I have to agree, there should've been a kick whether the ball was not perfectly placed or not as holding the ball prolonged in a vulnerable position would've lead to a worse outcome (for the TiCats)

^Ha! I thought about that on the field goal as well as when Sinopoli said "I wanted to throw it, but I didn't have the laces"

Fair enough. You are entitled to disagree.
However, they weren't winning. They were down 10-7 with less than 3 minutes in the game. Kickers don't make kicks when the ball is falling down and have lost their timing from 30 yards away. I haven't seen it. If you have, please post a video. However, I have certainly seen players scramble for a first down or complete a pass in this situation.

Dead Ball or Stamps blocking the kick and ended up running the ball all the way to the end zone for a touchdown. At least with holder trying to run it and they get stopped, they just lose possession where they stopped you. Yes there is a possibility the holder might fumble the ball. I don't think there is any right or wrong. At the time Medlock thinks the holder got a better chance than him kicking the ball.

Three games in, and the Stamps haven't given up a TD except for the meaningless last play of the first game.

I'm glad they left BLM in tonight despite the offensive woes. It's a longgggg season and sacrificing a bit of regular season success to allow him to struggle and work through his issues when things aren't going well is well worth it. Luckily the D stepped up in a big way and we got some breaks at the end to get the W anyways.
Awesome to get the W despite the complete dump the offence took on the field tonight. Well done Cote/Sinopoli. BLM must feel good that he can struggle the way he did and still get a W, will go a long way when he has all his weapons back.

Made it out to the game tonight, Lewis was only in every other play. So maybe they are babying him back into the lineup.
Only 3 balls went his way that I can remember.
The first was a strange call, they had him as the deep receiver trying to out right two defenders. Even in his prime that wouldn't have been a good route to put Nik on.
The second was classic Nik Lewis, in the middle double coverage, he got a hand on it but didn't pull it in.
The third we was wide open 10 yards from scrimmage, dogged a tackle and pickup of some extra yards.
I though Mitchell was telegraphing his passes to much in general, he needs to get his head on a swivel and run down his options not just stare at option A until he thinks he can get the ball there. But it was a bad game fore most of the team, except Simpson and Cote.

The Stamps have allowed a total of just 30 points — and just one touchdown — in three games so far in 2014 and are 3-0 to start a season for the first time since 2000.
Charleston Hughes, Shawn Lemon and Micah Johnson all have one sack vs TiCats while Josh Bell had an interception. Stingy defense.

If the D keeps this up we won't need to score more then 14 points a game

Good start for the D, yes.......but the Stamps haven't exactly faced any good teams yet. Just three mediocre to awful East teams.
It is nice however, to be 3-0 despite missing some key players.

They can only play who is on the schedule.
Yes the Esks are likely going to be a bigger test than any faced thus far, but no matter how you slice it, only surrendering 30 pts and 1 garbagetime TD in 3 games is a phenominal start to the year.

They have also played three terrible teams.
Edmonton's record is inflated too.
