I think Resolute 14 is correct, we need to stand up more and have more of a "don't tread on me" attitude.

I'm curious - how does "Free" apply to us in a provincial context? Or is the intention not to be provincial, but rather Canadian?

I actually came across a guy with ALL of these (including Veteran plate), I was relieved to get around this oblivious old dude. One of these guys who drives 40 everywhere, playground, School zones, residential areas (50-60).
People over the age of 55 should be required to have their reflexes checked, eyes checked, medical clearance, re-taking a road test & written test every 2 years.
(Yes it grinds my gears).

55 eh? Yeah, that's super old dude. You must be in your 20's. Lol.

You confuse angry with confident and assured. I was reading "don't tread on me" as a "let yourself be walked all over" meaning, rather than a gov't oppression/conspiracy theory nutcase.
I don't read it as an angry vibe, any more than I read Strong and Free as angry.

I reckon we are pretty free in this province.

Nope, pushing 40.
Fine, at 60 everyone re-does their testing every two years.

I'd rather have a more constructionist phrase than a defiant phrase as you can see the interpretation varies depending on who is reading it. I certainly read it with an angry vibe on first glance.
Maybe something more positive than defensive...something like "Land of Opportunity".

I usually see them on Volkswagons. VW's that were probably made in Mexico.

Compared to what? to whom? Free is a basically a relative term. You can't have free unless someone or something else isn't free. And seeing as how the other provinces and territories are guaranteed the same rights, I don't see how it really makes sense. But I guess it appeals to some people with a different feeling about it.
Thinking about it, we should just make our motto "The Canadian Frontier", since it matches our Prairie lifestyle, references Canada, and is pretty much where Canadians move to anyways.

Telling everyone how strong you are implies some level of confrontation. It's as if you're expecting a challenge, whether real or imagined. Why does Alberta always have to project a defiant vibe? We can show strength through actions, not chest beating. The whole "us against the world" angry man attitude is for the Napoleon-syndromes of the world.

I should get my 6 digit plate clear coated so it doesn't corrode and force me to the newer 7 digit B plates.

Should be mandatory retesting for everyone every license renewal IMO. Too many people get bad habits and should not be driving, regardless of age.
That said, I know 55 year olds who have decreased reflexes/night vision but whoa is you if you ever mention it to them.

Let's go with the Travel Alberta's idea:
'Just Breathe.'
...then put a picture in the background of a rodeo clown doinking a slore from behind at the Stampede midway with scorpion pizza falling out of their buttcracks.
