But just for a minute imagine if Alberta legalized just marijuana. Ignoring the issues with the federal government the potential revenues from taxing it and all the jobs created by the legal growers would be massive. It would compete directly with the illegal growers in BC.
Such a move would be massive.
And if you doubt the impact on the economy, go read of how legalizing marijuana has impacted the Colorado economy. It even impacts areas of the economy that nobody expected. Like container sales to marijuana growers.
One can dream right? :/
EDIT: And we're not even talking about the impact on the public side of things by not having to spend so much time and resources on throwing marijuana users in jail.

Nah, we should just live in the past and keep putting millions in resources towards operations like this.
Get those guys off the streets!
And then replaced with other guys within days!
And then the guys they arrested stay in the crime life because of jail!
Then when they get out they go back to what they were doing before, and we paid millions for their trials and encarceration!
And conveniently there's always roughly the same amount of drug trade in our city, despite the millions of resources poured into this war!
It's a win win for every one. How can you guys not support this!
