I thought Caboclo look surprisingly comfortable in summer league today, especially in the context of the lack of experience, the young overall age, and the language barrier. Showed decent handles, an excellent shot, a good willingness to pass (although he forced some passes) and good awareness on help defense. His one-on-one defense was easily the biggest weakness. Definitely not the '2 years from 2 years away' tag; I could see him being a contributor a year from now.
Nogueira is really intriguing. Very good defender, and excellent both running and defending the pick-and-roll. Of course the red flag with him is knee health, but when he's healthy I like what he brings.
Buycks was brutal. Showed no awareness of how to run the offense, which is really bad given that he's got more familiarity with what the Raptors like to run than anyone else. Machado also didn't step up. There's a definite opportunity for Kabongo get some minutes over either of those guys.
Whiteside... man has his body changed since his draft year. Incredibly imposing profile now, although it's hard to get a read on how that translates to NBA-size as opposed to summer-league size.
Shurna: Tall, white, 3pt-shooting PF? damn, it looked like the Raptors had brought Steve Novak back for their summer team. Excellent job off the catch-and-shoot (5-for-8 from 3), and didn't look awful on defence (didn't look good either... decidedly middling). Probably not a place for him on the Raptors, but a good summer league may get him a training camp invite and a serious shot at an NBA roster.
