Street and Reinhart now both have 60 points on the year.

1 more to tie the franchise single season points record, 2 to make history.

Billins called for interference.

Rampage to their 3rd PP of the 1st period.

2 on 1 with Reinhart. Reinhart fed him a pass and he put it right between the legs of Clemmensen.

Abbotsford Heat ‏@abbotsfordheat 34s
After the 1st Period, the #AHLHeat lead the @sarampage 2-0. Davies and Poirier (@epoirier27) with the goals. That's Poirier's first AHL goal

1st Period Ben Street Interview:

-Team's focus was to get a good start last night, play a full 60 minutes. Played 50 solid minutes, Rampage had a good push near the end to survive but team was happy.

-Patience in the 1st period lead to offensive explosion in the 2nd period. Rampage gave them a couple opportunities to capitalize on and they did.

-Locke was screaming at him for the puck on that 2nd goal and figured he gave himself away. Almost didn't pass it to him thinking there was no chance.

-Was completely unaware he was that close to the franchise points record. Not interested in focusing on that, wants to play a good game. Thinks focusing on the personal records ends badly for a team game.

-Best advice he got starting out was play his game and have fun, it's just hockey.

-Thinks Poirier is a smart player and will adjust just fine to the team

-Wants to build momentum going into the playoffs and be healthy. Doesn't want to see team limp into the playoffs, wants them to finish as high as they can in the standings.

Sounds like a successful audition so far for Poirier... Hope he gets some good minutes in the playoffs!

Man, if you told me Klimchuk was a player with less then 5 games in the AHL, I'm not sure I would believe you.

He's also having a solid game. Taking hits, throwing hits and making some nice plays.

Just about halfway into the 2nd. Shots are 10-7 Rampage.

Knight going off for delay of game.

Rolling puck and he shot it out and it just just went out.

Doug Carr also playing very well tonight. He's made a few big saves and looks fairly comfortable handling the puck. He made a nice clearing pass during the last PK.

Heat going to the PP as I think Jooris was interfered/held.

Regardless, it is a Heat PP.

My guess is even with a healthy line up guys like Klimchuk and Poirier play in the post season for the Heat. They're just a higher caliber player then Kanzig, Roy etc.

Playoff Seeding Watch:

Milwaukee currently has a 5-1 lead on Charlotte with about 10 minutes left in the 3rd. They are currently one point behind the Heat for the 5th seed. If they win and Abbotsford wins, it will come down to the game tomorrow to decide seedings and opponents.

It looks like we will either have the Wolves or the Marlies in the first round.
