Okay, well that definitely broadens the scope. Looch is 220 lbs of pure muscle and has pretty high-end finishing ability. If you just want a power forward over 200lbs, I'm pretty sure you could get David Booth out of the Canucks for nothing, or Clarkson off the Leafs. Clowe wouldn't break the bank either.
Those aren't really serious suggestions, the point is that I don't think it makes sense to pick a player type and say "we need to try to go out and find a guy who fits this mold". Even if you do find the guy, that doesn't guarantee chemistry. Wait for training camp, see what sticks, go from there.

Still hoping for Bennett tho

Reinhart is far from physically mature enough to play now. If he makes it it'll be like RNH in EDM. And I know a lot of Flames fans have argued the oilers shouldn't have kept RNH because he wasn't physically mature enough.

You'd have a hard time making a team, with that line-up as it's starting forwards, cap compliant.

Assuming we get Dal Colle/Draisatl I would go with:
FA-Backlund-Hudler
Colborne-Monahan-Johnny
Glencross-Stajan-Jones
Bouma-Knight/Arnold/B. Jones-Byron/Reinhart
McGrattan as the 15th guy
Competition between the Knight, Jones and Arnold for 4th line with likely chance all 3 spend time up with injuries and slumps.
Byron/Reinhart compete for 4th line spot guy who loses out is first call up.
Jones there for cap floor reasons.
Play top 3 lines roughly equal ES. Monahan line 1st Pp, Backlund line 2nd PP.

Colborne has been playing RW, and Johnny is a LW.

I wasn't thinking in terms of chemistry and more in terms of asset management. We want Monahan on the team putting up 30 in 10 years from now. The effect that intimidating guys have is palpable, like a security guard in a bank we need to protect the assets.

why don't we wait until we sign him...wait...what?
kidding!
i think on some level Gaudreau will start to bounce goals off of teammates' butts...but he needs a good puck distributing centre with size who can finish the opportunities he creates, and he needs a speedy winger on the other side who can score because everyone will be keyed on Gaudreau.

I think we might need to make a trade to move out bodies before next season.

Great veteran leadership. Those two guys are top class and Iginla will be back in Calgary after winning a cup with Boston. Jagr still puts up 65points Iggy 44-50. I don't see the problem with it??

The problem is right there. I agree 100% with Jagr though.
I was thinking about this a bit earlier, if Iggy came back, would he get the captaincy back from Gio? I don't think I'd be happy if he did.

Unsure why your guys' lineups are devoid of Max Reinhart.
Reinhart has now had the best 21 year old season of any Flames prospect in the AHL in 7 years.
I have a tough time seeing him not in the Flames lineup next season.

And with the <1st, 4th, 5th> pick the Flames are proud to select Sam ...
(No, not Bennett, although that would also be pretty exciting)

At the risk of sounding like a moron; where did that nickname come from?
