Positives there are a bunch.
Gio's play, Monohan's season, Colborne looking like a legit NHLer/bottom 6 winger, Brodie's develoment, clearing up of the goalie situation even if Ramo doesn't look like anything more than a stop gap guy for now, Backlund looks like a decent 3rd line option whether that is at center or not is still to be seen, Wotherspoon showed something in his time up, Bouma has come back and been about as awesome as could be expected.
Others like Reinhart and Granlund have shown that the team looks to be well situated in the bottom 6, maybe even 9, roles and depth defensemen, now the team needs to try and acquire/develop some top end talent to go with those complimentary pieces.
Surprises for me would be Gio. He has some pretty rough seasons and has looked like more of a 2nd pairing guy more recently now he is clearly a top pairing guy.
