What is happening with Chris Cuthbert?

I noticed his name was not among the ones that TSN extended.

When I watch hockey, I enjoy the hockey first, then the insight. I'm not sure why so many people are caught up in how someone describes to them what they can see with their own eyes.

Simmer is a bit bland, I'll give you that. The production values with regards to the sound being off sync and crowd noise are annoying. I don't care much for some of the intermission panels.

I still don't understand the cool guy fad of pooping on Kerr every 3 posts. All the same things were said about Loubardius (sp?) now suddenly he was good.

Three quarters of a game thread focuses on Kerr's call. It's a bit much. The on ice stuff should keep your attention.

Rogers has the same pattern for all of there divisions. Corner the market and pay the least for employees as they can for actual service. Why because they corner the market and there is no choice for people to go too. Once the people actually leave Rogers they will be forced to change, but that is an ideology that just will not happen.

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. I think it's pretty telling when one station (Sportsnet) makes the games of a team I love boring and another (TSN) makes a game between 2 teams I don't care about exciting. The silencing of the crowd really takes away from the excitement and I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. The mini commercials between plays and having to rush replays is torture. The fake electronic ads on the glass kind of annoys me too (pretty sure TSN and CBC don't do this but not sure so correct me if I'm wrong). The fact that they don't have a pregame show like TSN and the fact that they don't talk about the game between periods really takes away from the experience. Also John Shannon inbetween periods makes me want to puke. That guy is a total knob.

Kerr sucks. Period. Needs to go ASAP.

Simmer I actually don't hate. He's not perfect, but I can live with him.

Millions is good.

Overall just a poor product. I really hope something is done to get TSN the regional rights sooner than expected. It's nice to have different takes on the Flames and limiting it to one station seems horrible.

PBP is integral to the presentation of the game and it obviously matters to people. There's a reason that every hockey broadcast still has them.

No idea but if not then probably his choice. He's the best PBP guy there is and he can probably pick wherever he pleases.

It is clear that SN does not pay for talent like TSN. It is obvious at all levels. Worst case is that Rob & Charlie are back next year. I could live with it if CHARLIE STOPS MUMBLING WHILE THE PLAY IS GOING ON!!!
Please Charlie, just keep it to between the whistles. Please.

And its not all his fault, as Kerr will feed him questions during the play, then Charlie mumbles and stumbles while significant play is occurring on the ice. Good PBP guys cut in, Kerr lets him go.

For those that think Rogers is doing us a favour, check out their earnings report.

Here's the link to sign up for Sportsnet's NHL Fan Advisory Panel:

http://sportsnetnhlfans.msch.ca/

You can share your feedback about the stations, coverage etc.

It's in the early stages, but it might be the sounding board some are looking for.

Yeah, I can't stand it either when people try to sneak in commercials in the middle of content.

Syncing your audio does not cost money. Turning up the crowd noise, and turning down your PBP audio, does not cost money.

Both these things could probably be done in about 30 seconds, and half the complains would cease. Not fixing these issues is just lazy.

Is there the same sound issue with Oilers home games?

Rob Kerr is terrible. Sad thing is, he doesn't know he's terrible and so, here we are.

"Like a salmon jumping out of water" was one I heard a few games back that was gut wrenching atrocious.

Having said that, all can be corrected if Kerr drops "Boom Goes the Dynamite" with every over-the-top call, follow by screen streamer graphics or something resembling the end of a Mortal Kombat round.

I haven't noticed it as when I catch some of their games but my Oilers buddies tell me they see the issue as well.

Perhaps gut wrenching atrocity is a strong word ? Honestly I heard that when I was watching the game with some buddies and we all burst out lolling and thought it was funny. Maybe it's just me, but I find Kerr and his weird ''Kerr-isms'' hilarious for the most part.

Ya I kind of wish the crowd volume was turned up, but I'm pretty sure it's kept low so you don't hear as much swearing. All you ever hear on NBC and TSN are swears when the players are near a mic. Just a thought, but maybe SN doesn't want that? At the end of the day, I'm just grateful we don't have to pay for PPV games anymore and I can watch the team I love in the comfort of my own home. I also PVR the game so I can skip commercials and the intermission where everyone seems to hate the panel so much.

Maybe somebody has the numbers on this, but before Sportsnet, how many Flames games did CBC and TSN cover between the two of them? Because I think I may prefer 34 games of high-quality coverage vs 70 games of bad coverage and 12 games of high-quality coverage.

Off topic - but that NBC pbp guy really does a good job. During all the outdoor games this year, I much preferred watching NBC to CBC... Sportsnet should hire him, he makes the games so fricken exciting to watch.
