Sven with 2G,3A, 5P and +5?

This makes me happy. Maybe it'll quiet the people that keep suggesting to trade him.

Coda Gordon arrived in Abbotsford yesterday, last evaluation before he goes unsigned.

Chicago, while great at nurturing forwards and defence, seem to have no luck in drafting and developing goalies. Prior to Corey Crowford, the last goalie that Chicago actually drafted and developed and had in the lineup for more then a few games was Craig Anderson from 2002-2006.

That was one of the best/worst games I've seen from the Heat in a long while. Most of their goals were pretty lucky. They simply can't give up that many shots tonight if they want to win. I mean, Ortio's God and all, but that's not a good recipe.

I was extremely impressed to see how physical and fast this Rockford team is. Mark McNeill was easily the best player on the ice last night. Remember him? Half of CP wanted the Flames to draft him and half wanted Baertschi. McNeill's pretty damn good himself. He could turn into a hell of a power forward.

Tons. The Heat were lucky to come away with two points.

Appears Blair Jones is good to go for tonight. The Heat get even stronger up front.

That's good news - how long has it been for him?

Should be enough time to get his legs and timing back before the playoffs

Jones has been out since mid March. Didn't make the 2 week road trip or weekend games prior to it.

I think he got injured in that Wolves series March 8th or 9th. So about a month.

He plays a really good 100' game and is a weapon on the PP, but that's kind of where his game ends. He'd probably be an NHLer full time if he could play both ends of the rink

Anderson was drafted by the Flames, third round in 99. Never signed with us, went back to the draft where Chicago took him.

Yes, another goalie that got away from the Flames.

For those in Calgary, tonight's Heat game will be on the Fan960. Game gets underway in just under 40 minutes.

Ortio to get his 6th straight start, Carr to backup:

It's Ortio vs. Simpson tonight. 6th straight start for 31. Jones slotted with Street and Reinhart. Doug Carr is dressed and will back-up.

They haven't officially said anything yet (should have scratches for the game in the next 10 mins or so), but it does sound like they shut him down for the weekend and he will try again next Friday.

Gah.

The Flames' best kept prospect secret. We're never going to get to see this kid play under the Flames org. The sky is falling and such.
