If the Oil win all of their games (hah!), they will have 77 points. The Flames have 69 points now. Collect away.

Ok? Is your point that if you're paid in the upper echelon of NHL players you should be unaffected by personal issues?

So I guess Feaster was correct after all last year. According to him Ramo was the best goaltender not playing in the NHL
Ramo is getting better and better. He used to give up bad rebounds at the beginning of the season that led him into trouble. Lately his rebound control was so much better. He's been consistently good since he came back from the injury.
When the Rangers scored 3 goals in a row and the Flames started running around like their heads cut off, I was hoping Hartley would put the 4th line to energize the team. I mean between Gio's mistake on the first goal and the unfortunate bounce on Wotherspoon's body on the 2nd goal, it looks like the team was down and Grats or Westgarth just need to win a fight. To my surprise, Westgrath scored a goal instead to lift the guys spirit.
I must have dozed off in the first period because I didn't see Smid getting hurt. How bad was it? Will he miss some games on the road (5 vs Eastern teams)? As for Agostino, did he get hurt or Hartley just stapled him to the bench? I noticed Byron was moved to Monahan and Colborne line then Bouma and Stajs double-shifted taking turns as a centre for the 4th line. I don't mind Agostino's play because he's very responsible defensively BUT I still want to see if he contribute offensively.
Anyways that was awesome win. Never doubted they are going to make the game interesting especially late in the 3rd period. They've been doing it the last few games already. I don't care much of our drafting position in 2014, all I want to see is the team's effort to try to win every single games. This is different from the past few seasons where they tend to start playing well before the end of the season then missed the playoff. Those years were consisted of veteran players. This season, it is more helping the young guys experience how it feels to win against good teams. It is a learning experience for most young guys and learning to be competitive would be beneficial for the Flames in the future.

I thought Chris Butler really stepped it up tonight. I really didn't notice any mistakes, and he was creating offensive chances, despite being outside his comfort zone by playing 22 minutes. And I loved that kick pass to Cammy.

Happy. This is a fun game, fun to watch, and especially fun to see your favourite team score goals.

Nope..
Believe that all players should give their best and disregard minimal distractions.
Your definition of personal issues are alot different than mine.
Stajan had personal issues......not Cammalleri.

Not a single person has the right to judge anyone on how their personal issues affect them.

Forget personal issues. Cammy is streaky. 82 healthy games, and the guy is 35goal scorer. When he started the season (after injury) he came out on fire. I choose to give him the benefit of the doubt about his cold streak. He was trying too hard, coming off injury, and concerned about trade destinations.
Signing him past this year, I'd be most concerned about injury history, not motivation.

Well Sportsclubstats.com has us at a 0.0% chance of making the playoffs.
On the bright side, the Canucks have only a 3.1% better chance than we do.

I don't mind Kerr's play call--the Kerr'isms are growing on me. But Simmer really adds nothing to the game. A nice guy, but really brutal color and it becomes more obvious when you watch a lot of out of town broadcasts. There are some surprisingly good commentators out there on regional US broadcasts and it makes you wonder why Sportsnet, and to a lesser degree the CBC, can't do better.

I love Ramo.
The guy looks like the real deal.
I think a game in the press box for Monahan might do him some good. Not as punishment, but I think he needs a breather.

This team playing how they are playing how they are now, would have made the playoffs...
Excited to see how next year will go..

I was thinking something similar on the way home last night.
Feaster didn't do himself any favours by making proclamations of Cervenka, Ramo and Berra ... so much downside when you flap your mouth like that.
But as things settle in you have Ramo looking very much in the plans, potentially in an all Finland tandem with Ortio next year, and Berra yielding the team a pretty important 2nd round pick.

I really hope he signs here. Otherwise we get nothing PLUS he likely swayed our draft position by a few notches to boot.

So nice to see Ramo making some people eat crow. Some people were writing him off before he even played 10 games. It's still too early to know where he tops out or how consistent he will be in the long run, but I have no doubt that he can be a starter in the NHL.
Hopefully his play has also been enough to quell any desire of bringing in the mentally fragile Reimer (who would probably wither up on a rebuilding team).

That goal was huge. But prior to that, with the score 3-2 and the Flames reeling, Ramo made an outstanding save on Stralman that saved the game. If he scores there, I think the clock strikes midnight and the Flames turn into a pumpkin. Instead, they score shortly afterwards and go on to win.
