I'm 36, my earliest memory is when they beat the habs in '89. Up until then I was a Habs fan (Mats Naslund), but after watching Fleury in the playoffs I was a fan right away and stuck with it even through the horrible mid to late 90's.

I'm 29, born and raised a Flames fan.
I grew up in a house with my Grandparents, as my mom was young and still lived with them at the time. My grandpa was a die hard fan, and my uncle, who was barely a teenager at the time was a fan and goalie, so I have fond memories of watching games with them, as well as having tape balls shot at me by my uncle and his friends when I was no more than 4 or 5 years old.
The Flames were my team from the get go, as that was my Grandpa's team. He had several cousins who played in the NHL, and the last to retire spent a few seasons with the Atlanta Flames, but signed elsewhere the year they moved to Calgary, my Grandpa had followed his time in Atlanta, so new the team pretty well, and continued to cheer for them after the move.
I don't recall the games leading up to the cup in '89 as I had just turned 4, but what I do remember is the pure joy my Grandpa had when the Flames beat the Canadiens, he hated the Canadiens. The house was just so full of happiness and celebrations for weeks, that it's a time I will never forget.
He taught me that Hockey is not just a game, but it is a passion, whether you play it, or cheer for those who do, it's a lifestyle.

22. My favorite player when I was really young was Sandy McCarthy.
I also remember walking around the main concourse with my dad when I was really young and meeting Lanny McDonald.
Unfortuantly, I didn't attend any 2004 playoff games, but one of my favorite games that I have ever been to was the 2005/2006 Divison clinching game against the Avalanche. We won 2-0. The Dome was electric.

My first NHL game was against the Hartford Whalers where Andrew Cassels ripped a shot off the back glass off Rich Tabaracci back and into the net. I think it was like the 1994 season.

i just turned 41
in my early years i was in southern ontario. even back then the leafs sucked so i cheered for the habs. in 1986 (i was 13) we moved to bc.... and i got to meet canuck 'fans' for the first time. they are the same today as they were in the mid-80s.... clueless about their team/prospects/hockey in general/etc.
i took a lot of grief for being a habs fan and constantly got, 'you live in western canada now so you should cheer for a western canadian team!' i decided that these stupid canuck fans did in fact have a point, and i should support a western canadian team.... i was now a flames fan!!
the very first flames game i got to go to: 1989, stanley cup final, game 2. flames lost but it still was amazing. my dad knew a guy in calgary that was able to get him 2 seats in the nose bleeds so off we went. i had my hair all painted up - yellow on the sides with red flaming c's and then red on top
**side note.... if you ever use those hair spray paints, make sure you put a ton of regular hairspray in your hair first, then later the stuff washes right out. if you use that same hair spray paint for grad kidnapping and spray a girl's hair red and yellow, she might spend five or six hours washing her hair trying to get it out, and then come to school the next day still extremely pi$$ed off with red and yellow hair... oops!
so yea - hair all painted up at the dome. then my dad's buddy came and found us during the first intermission, gave me his ticket and said, 'i want to chat with your dad this period, so here's my ticket so you can find my seat.... enjoy the second period!' so off i went, found an usher and asked him where the seat was... he took me to the lower bowl and said, 'you're right down there...' i took my seat, looked a couple seat over to my left and gave the goal judge a big smile and wave! so if any of you were at the dome for game 2 in '89 and remember a kid with painted up hair in a white flames jersey banging on the glass behind patrick roy in the second period screaming, "go home you stinkin' frog!!!" ...well... that was me!!

I grew up in Vancouver and attended my first NHL hockey game October 9th, 1993! For some reason as a little kid i went against my fathers wishes and the peer pressure of all the fans around me and cheered loud and hard for the Flames! The Flames ended up winning 5-1 and I supported them ever since!

24, first flames memory was going to a game against the oilers when we had Kidd in net. Obviously the flames got lit up. The dome had only had a couple thousand people left in it and those who were left heckled Kidd for the entire game. That's when I learned my first swear words.

I lived in Vancouver when the Flames moved to Calgary from Atlanta. I hated the Canucks even then because of their classlessness as an organization (e.g. forcing Mike Robitaille to play with an injured back, essentially crippling the man for life) and the cluelessness of the fanbase.
Moved to Calgary in 1982; first Flames game was in the Corral against the Oilers (Greasers won but it was respectable as I recall). Steven Simmonds received a hearty round of boos for an inflammatory three-star selection.

38, but horribly immature for my age. Came here as an immigrant from a land with no ice, just in the nick of time to catch the Flames' fist season in Calgary. Have been a fan ever since.
