My statement is that if your favourite beer is Bud or Coors Light you don't like beer. You like a highly processed commercial beverage designed not to offend the taste buds marketed by women with large breasts. Nothing wrong with that but take away the marketing and the large breasts or blind taste test the beer and Bud and Coors light won't be your favourite.

Bud and Coors light is still beer in every single way that any other beer is a beer. People who like those brews still like beer, so drop the snobbery. You clearly have an issue with American Macrobrews, that's fine, but whether the taste is better or not (I won't argue that there are beers that taste better) it is totally irrelevant in every way.
Just like what you like, go nuts, pipe down and drink a beer like an adult without some need to qualify certain tastes as better than others. You go down to the south and Coors Light is king, why? Because it's cheap, light, and refreshing. Perfect on a hot day and cheap enough to down without a care. Some people require only that in a beer, others require more complex flavour profiles.
Guess what? It's all still beer.

I think GGG is technically correct, which is the best kind of correct. If you drink exclusively Kokanee, Bud, Molson Canadian, Alexander Keith's, but dislike beers that are darker, or hoppier, or smokier or funkier, you don't like 'beer', you like light lagers. It's sort of like saying "I like seafood but only eat Salmon." Well, you don't have to like ALL creatures of the sea to like fish, but it's not really true that you like 'seafood'. You like 'Salmon'.
"I like wine, but I only drink Cabernet Sauvignon."
"I like board games but I only play chess."

On that same technicality though, if you only like beers that are darker, or hoppier, or smokier, or funkier, you don't like 'beer', you like ales and stouts (or whatever).
So if he is technically correct, then he also doesn't like beer.
Man, for the amount of what technically disqualifies someone from liking beer, I sure know a hell of a lot of people who drink a hell of a lot of something they don't technically like.
I never knew drinking was so technical and advanced

I think the beer snobs in this thread are doing a great job illustrating why they're insufferable.

Beer snobs are the worst. And the worst thing about them is they always either;
A) don't think they're annoying when they go on about what a real beer is and talk down to anyone who drinks the more commercial beers, or
B) know they're being an annoying beer snob, but feel the need to project their unimportant views on everyone, like they're the head of an awareness campaign.

So what makes someone a beer snob? I have had some amazing beers in my life in some amazing places, like to talk about them because they were so tasty... does that make me a snob?

Beer snob if you look down on me for my love of Lucky. If you accept that we all have different tastes and don't feel the need to lecture me about the beer I drink you are not a beer snob

Is Lucky good? Is the town bike a good choice to marry? Maybe not but you enjoy your time when you are with her.

I was looking at that, and I think I could borderline fall into a lot of different categories, but it would depend on what your standards are.
For instance, I like Star Wars quite a bit, but if we were to play a Star Wars Trivial Pursuit game I would get my ass handed to me.
There are a lot of other categories like that for me.
