Is it just me or do Granlund and Reinhart look like they could be brothers?

This game can tell us how we can play without Hudler in the lineup.
Although, you can't really judge playing one game without him, let alone against one of the bottom feeders, (or at least soon-to-be a bottom feeder).
I expect another good performance from the youngsters, they bring a lot of energy.

They said the exact same thing when it was Stempniak's wife giving birth. 'Personal/family reasons'
Hopefully the birth went/is going well for the babystaj

Damn, having Loob here instead of the cup would've been so much more interesting.

All I see when I see Max is Ryan Smyth.

It's kind of cool to see the Cup in the Saddledome. That's the big carrott that every team dangles in front of their players to get the most out of them. With all these kids the Flames will have on the ice tonight, it's going to be a very up close and personal reminder of why they play the game and what the end goal is.
Just another boost for them.

Hopefully its Mrs Stajan just going through mood swings or something and not a health issue with Stajan Jr.

Go Flames! I'm glad to see the young guys in the classic jerseys but don't really care about Nieuwendyk.

In the players' defense the Flames ownership at the time was incredibly cheap. Every veteran who left made substantially more money with their next team.

I agree the Flames were incredibly cheap but the issue with Nieuwendyk was that he held out and demanded a trade when he was under contract. MacInnis and Fleury both left for more money but under much better circumstances.

Hopefully Gary Roberts show up to this one - him being childhood friends with Joe and all.
Islanders should be coming out pretty hard against the Flames tonight. Don't think they can match the intensity and pace the Flames seem to play with, however. If Ortio can weather the storm early, Flames should be able to get another win.

GDT: Flames vs. Islanders + Nieuwendyk Forever a Flame
Nieuwendyk was awesome and my favourite player as a kid. How he left doesn't mean jack squat to me. It's cool to see the team honouring him... Even if it is with this farce of a Forever a Flame program.
Nieuwendyk, Fleury, Roberts, Gilmour, Suter, Vernon, Makarov and Macinnis. Most of them left and never looked back, but every one of them were my heroes as a kid.
