Realistically the picks don't matter because Edmonton sucks at drafting if the player isn't on the front page of the hockey news with the byline "Our consensus number one pick".
Is Fasth going to be another savior or exposed as benefiting from playing behind a very good team in Anaheim? Only time will tell, my guess is that his groin will exploded like dried wood from all the action that he's going to see. The nice thing for the Oilers is that they're not spending a ton of money on goalies. But I don't really think that this is any more then nibbling around the edges of a massively badly built organization that has slow roasted in incompetence juice for the last 8 years.
The bad coaching, lazy players and poor defensive awareness issues are going to be very difficult and painful to fix and shuffling goaltenders isn't going to help that.
For the Oilers to regain some faith with their fans they have to make a major move tomorrow, its just that simple, and Justin Schultz and Nail and Eberle aren't going to net the kind of franchise shifting move that they need to do.
I fully expect a mac-t press conference tomorrow after they fail to do anything significant and Hemsky and Gagner are still part of the team where Mac-T whines that they really really tried, and Lowe will stand in the background and flash gang signals while booming "6 Rings b1tches"
