So, given the fact that I understand absolutely nothing about what you said, I think my goal of not losing any money might be a bit far reaching.

Haha, fear not, there is nothing cryptic in the post. One of the rules in the simulator is no stocks less than $1.00/sh share price is allowed. I have a few "penny stocks" so can't enter those companies.
The "trusts" have a ticker symbol on the Toronto Stock Exchange usually with a ".UN-T" suffix (units). The real estate trust company "Inovalis" has a ticker of INO...which then becomes "INO.UN-T"...I can't figure out how to enter/find it with the .UN part.

I hope my strategy of randomly throwing darts at stocks will work out for me.
(That is in effect what I am doing since I really have no clue what I am doing or how to go about trading stocks effectively)

Canadian Listed Options don't seem to work. Data is displayed but when i go to buy them it'll say "Option Symbol not found". US ones work fine.
So much for my plans of CP Stock Simulation Domination.

In the trade window, just below the data entry stuff there is a list of help topics, one of them is "how can I trade canadian stocks."
The only limiting factor I saw was that the game had to be set up to trade in USD and CAD. From what I can tell, that seems to be the case so you should be able to assert your domination.

Looks like it should be INO.UN.TO but I can't find that one. I do see the Inter Pipeline Fund trust (IPL.UN.TO) so I think the format is right.

Woo, up $400 on a 14000 investment already this morning... This could become a bad addiction if I start to swap in some real money.

Already lost $147 in about 5 minutes after my first purchase. At this rate, I should be broke by tomorrow.

Note that it seems you get $250,000 USD and $250,000 CAD to work with. I bought some Canadian stocks and had to switch to the CAD view in the portfolio to actually see them. The rankings also appear to be split by currency.

so I signed up and realized that with my real work and my actual portfolio I'm not going to be able to piss around with this like I had hoped for.
That being said start with 250k, end with 250k will probably be better then some

Yep. I set it up to trade both CAD and USD so you should be able to trade Canadian stocks.

Apparently you have a CDN and USD account. So $250,000 of each to trade.

The minimum price rule is disabled so you should be able to buy penny stocks.

Azure just disabled the penny stock feature (min price rule), I tried and still wasn't working so it may take a day for the simulator to reset that feature. Still can't get some of the small trusts to show, but that might fix them as well.
