This is a long-troll by God to get us to show compassion toward the mentally ill.

Not quite racist, but here's a quote regarding racism (particularly relating to Nazi ideology):

"we don't believe in physical violence of any kind, and the Scripture doesn't support racism. ... The only true Nazis in this world are f**s."

Other notable quotes:

"If you still think that we aren't supposed to judge under any circumstances, then you better not tell me to stop judging. Otherwise, you'd be guilty of judging me."

regarding protesting- "Is it mean, hateful, uncompassionate, etc.? I'm sure it is, according to your standards. However, according to my standards, it would be infinitely more mean, hateful, uncompassionate, etc., to keep my mouth shut and not warn you that you, too, will soon have to face God."

I see it the exact opposite. It did a good thing in that it brought an entire community together.

Westboro will be dead inside of 30 years. Their numbers are dwindling. Family members are leaving and finding out what the real world is like. At some point, just like small, rural towns, there won't be anyone left.

And the linked article is recounting claims from Nate Phelps (left the church in 1976) that it was all profit driven and Fred was in fact racist. Given the church and how they operate the profit driven thing makes a lot of sense. But it's a he said she said thing.
