The HoC subreddit has a discussion thread for every episode, with no spoilers for forward episodes. That's where I went.

How can you be disappointed in a "recycled" story that's pretty much playing out in current events? I'd say it's pretty on point.
Season was good. Thought every Remy / Sharp moment was a painful waste of time though.

Great show. The most tense moments are those in which Underwood gets that "evil angry" look and goes off on someone. Season 3 features some good examples of it as he starts to lose his grip on all of the crap going on around him.
This show's tension really grabs me for some reason, due mainly to the acting and writing involving the main few characters. You're always on edge wondering what's going to happen with the Underwood marriage, or who's going to backstab who next. I find Spacey to be such a convincing two-face in the show that it's borderline unsettling.

Finished the season.Kind of left with a meh feeling about it. Lot's of things happened but they didn't carry the weight of say Kate Mara's fate or the other guys from last season.
The Biography writer has an interesting role heading into next season.

I couldn't help seeing Tom as Mickey Doyle from Boardwalk and it was making me laugh all the time. I'm used to seeing Kim Dickens in things other than Deadwood, so it's not so bad ... but Doyle man, I just can't get past it.

Jimmi Simpson is always Liam McPoyle. Whenever he's on screen, I'm just waiting for him to crack open a carton of milk

So who does Timothy Olyphant play next season? The republican leader? Ooo! Make it Ian McShane!
EDIT: I miss Deadwood.

***Spoilers All from the 3rd Season***
An average season, I thought the 11th and 12th episodes were fantastic and high quality, and also the debate from episode 10 but besides that it just was not up to the standard set but seasons one and two. More political, more Sopranos, don't care as long as the story is a high standard, this season wasn't. Didn't feel the tension as much as others, even the dynamic between the Underwood's didn't feel right.
Kevin Spacey was great though, he really stole the show during the debate scene as well. He was so Presidential it was astonishing.

*** ALSO SPOILERS
If by Presidential you mean avoided questions and clumsily guided the topics towards what he wanted to talk about. I found him super annoying in the debate. His turn on Sharpe was great, other than that I thought Dunbar destroyed both of them. Thought it would lead to her bumping him from the ticket actually.
I found the whole diary thing to be kind of just tossed in as an excuse for Dunbar to (sort of) corrupt herself. But it didn't seem like she needed to be that desperate. Looked like she had the upper hand to me.

I think that was sort of the point.
She muddied herself when she didn't have to. Underwood brought her down to his level. That scene in the whitehouse where he said she was one of the boys, making backroom deals.
She had become corrupted.

Yeah, I mean exactly that. Exactly what Presidential candidates do during debates. Kevin Spacey nailed the private and public persona of Underwood perfectly.
