Oil give up nothing for a bottom pair d (at best, but he's still an improvement for their horrific blue-line corp).

TO moves some cap space.

It's no Westgarth trade, but it's ok for both teams.

fraser is a big stay at home defenseman and if he can get his game back to what it was before the skull cracking last year then (unfortunately) this will be a good deal for the oilers...even playing poorly he might get into their top 4.

I am going to assume you mean the Oilers top 4 because they are terrible. Because even before the incident Fraser wasn't a top 4 defenseman. He's a serviceable 5th dman at best and more likely a 6-7.
