In Montreal, P.K. Subban is going to have a large price tag, too, and I know this will mark me as an Oilers fan, but I don’t love Subban’s game more than Petry’s game, certainly not when you factor in Petry’s low contract. Winnipeg has the likes of Dustin Byfuglien, Zach Bogosian and Tobias Enstrom, but you don’t trade a first overall pick for those kind of pieces. USA star d-man Jacob Trouba? That’s an interesting name raised by Ralph, but not in a Yakupov trade. Young d-men take forever to develop and are far more uncertain quantities than young forwards.

Haha now Trouba is better than any D-Man they have.

Dave Staples is a complete idiot. Just recently he said that Bergeron was old and shouldn't be on the Olympic team. The media up north are just as much a gong show as the team.

AltaGuy has a magnetic personality and exudes positive energy, which is infectious to those around him. He has an unparalleled ability to communicate with people, whether he is speaking to a room of three or an arena of 30,000.

Chris Hadfield pretty much the coolest guy on the planet. Well done on the anthem.

Does thinking that Hockey Day in Canada is a schlocky relic make me a communist?

In the draft watch: Buffalo ties it up with 25 seconds left in the third, going to OT
Florida is losing, 3 minutes left in that game.

Other than the crappy small town where they have the special events, does anyone actually care about it?

Well you usually get three Saturday games instead of two, so in a way it's better. Don't really care about most of the sentimental stories and stuff, just not my cup of tea. I did watch the segments on Dan Snyder and Ace Bailey though, as those were interesting. Could give a crap about the no names who never made the NHL though.

all three Austrian players on the scoreboard in a single game ... Vanek and Grabner both get an assist for the Isles, but it's Raffl that gets the GWG for the Flyers. Philly wins 6-4.

Buffalo picks up another point.
I'd rather see Buffalo finish last than Edmonton though.

I fully expect at least one of them to catch us by draft day.

Not gonna matter. If they finish one two, regardless of order, they're not going to interfere with each others picks. We need to get in that 2 slot, at least ahead of Edmonton. But we won't, because they're historically bad. Gonna be Reinhart/Bennett for us, whoever is left and assuming Bennett stays up there. Which is fine, it will just be a shame to see Edmonton ruin Ekblad too.
