Have to think Butler's ice tonight was just a matter of circumstance. He only had 19 minutes last night, second night of back to back with a sick team. And as bad as Butler can be, O'brien is still a worse option.

I thought he was pretty good when he did play.

I counted three really bad giveaways, one of them which led to the tying goal.

They are just numbers.

Bouma played almost 16 minutes. It looks like our 4th line has switched places with our 3rd line.

First part of the period was mostly PK, and then Hartley substituted Jones to give the line a little more grit as the Flames tried to protect the lead. Not a big deal.

I tend to defend Butler, but he didn't have a great game tonight. He had his good moments, but that was far from his only mistake. It was simply the only mistake that he got burned on.

Agree - not his fault the puck should have been out of the zone and the clock allowed to run out

however he didnt play the situation very well. I think he tenses up in the last minute - just needs some more playing in that situation.

Don't forget the 12 icings! and the little nudge to Perron after he bowled over Berra.
Butlersoft is butlersoft. I mean i can't blame him for not being physical. It's a tough game. Just please don't be on our NHL team. You can make a good-easy living in Europe. and they have lots of babes over there.

Anyone have Butler's email address? i have to CC him on this post.

Beating the greasers is never a bad thing.

I'm sad we didn't see more of Chris McGrattan. I think he might have been traded with that Jarmoe guy.

I haven't been as down on Butler over the last couple years as a lot of people here but please please please get him the f*** off this team. If any other defenseman in the organization is in his spot tonight, Berra has his first shutout. He had a couple okay games after Gio first got hurt but he's back to his old self. It's over, cut the cord. There is no way he should be ahead of Smith on the depth chart at this point.
