Garza stays in the NL Central - got more term than I thought he was going to get, but the Brewers have to sway FA one way or another...

I'm not sure why everyone is down on Garza. I'd rather have him than Santana or Jiminez (who will probably get more money). If anything Garza has been fairly consistent over his career, where as you don't know what you will get from those 2.

Looks like Jeter is retiring after next year.

Yay, Derek Jeter won't be getting any called 3rd strikes in the late winnings this year. By his will be the Rivera Fairwell Tour Part 2.

Ryan Dempster tells the Red Sox he will walk away from the 13 million coming his way for this season and not pitch this year. It is all over Twitter now.

I love how agents are now saying the Phillies will never enter the home of their clients again.

The big guns for the Giants are all throwing really well early in Spring Training:
http://blog.sfgate.com/giants/2014/0...s-other-notes/
In Tuesday’s 3-2 Giants victory, the Rockies scored a run against Ryan Vogelsong in his third and final inning. It was the first allowed by one of the five regular starters in 14 innings, and even there, Vogelsong said the cutter that Ryan Wheeler hit for an RBI double was a well-placed pitch.
The more impressive stat: In those 14 innings the starters (minus Matt Cain, who makes his Cactus debut Wednesday) have one walk, by Tim Lincecum.
[Matt Cain was one Colin Cowgill double away from a perfect three innings in his 2014 exhibition debut. He did not walk a hitter and struck out two].
[Tim Hudson extended his spring training scoreless streak to five innings]
[Tim Lincecum: three shutout innings, no walks, no K’s]
http://www.sfgate.com/giants/article...ve-5305598.php
Cain punched out five perfect innings in Monday's 3-2 exhibition loss to the Cubs, the longest and best spring training outing for a Giants starter, which says a lot.
The top four starters have thrown 23 scoreless innings - 27 when counting Madison Bumgarner's four innings Sunday against Giants prospects - and Cain's shutout-inning streak is eight.

I am so excited!!! I am going to opening day in San Diego vs the Dodgers. Being a Rays fan I don't really care who wins but this will be my first Opening day ever and am looking forward to it!
