I guess SP stopped picking Jiri in his pools.... thank god.

What a big road win tonight. Exciting game. Welcome back Mike Cammallari. Jiri Hudler was a beast tonight. Good to see these vets take the leadership role.
Same with Wideman and Gioradano on D. Good game by Brodie as well. A lot of minutes though for Wideman and Gio.
Sean Monahan again, good goal, shows he's not scared to go to the dirty areas and gets rewarded. Sven Baertschi was good as well, Stempniak another good game. Even Brian McGrattan who only played 2:58, he did something unlike Backlund and Glencross. These two guys need to pick up their game or they will be moved.
Can't forget Kari Ramo, pretty solid game again tonight.
Flames are a well coached team and you can tell coach Hartley won't put up with passengers.
On to Phoenix.

I thought Backlund was fine, he seems to have the tough match ups.

GOAT!

One of the best scenes from tonight's game was Monahan getting decked from behind late in the third, and then just quietly staring the guy down for a good 10 seconds afterward.
The guy is so composed out there, it's pretty awesome to see for sure.

Baertschi going to to the corners in both ends, Backlund looking like Gilmour, Giordano on pace for the Norris. I don't know what's going on, but I hope it keeps up.

Backs was our best defensive forward all night and was constantly pushing the play in the offensive zone. I question your ability to assess.

Didn't he tell you he's been playing hockey all his life so he knows more about hockey then any of us?

I thought Backlund was solid. The guy is arguably our best two way forward...

Agreed. Backlund was outstanding tonight (as he has been all season.)

Backlund will never be the high scoring centre we hoped, but I am thrilled with the type of player he's turned into.

Yep, he just plays like a man out there. Pretty amazing combination of maturity and hockey sense in this guy. Like someone else said, we got a special kid here. He's going be a good one. I will have to admit that, so far, I was totally out to lunch on the pick...I was hoping for Lindholm.

Ramo's even-strength SV% after 3 games is .948 (73/77) very impressive start

Ramo was the main reason for the win tonight. Many big saves. We will be seeing him start the majority of the games in the future.
Hudler was great as well.
