Personally, I am not worried about Jankowski not being physical enough. That is not what concerns me about his game at all. I would be more concerned if he was indeed physical this past season at his 170lb frame to be honest. I am sure his physical game will come.

What made me concerned (and I really should find another word than concerned here as it is too strong) was his lack of compete - puck pursuit, the 'hungry factor', etc. Gaudreau looks like a prospect on the cusp of making the NHL because he wants the puck badly. Jankowski looked a bit too laid-back for my liking.

With that being said, I think Jankowski is one heck of a prospect, and I see him developing as possibly the most important player on the team. I am really high on this kid. I don't think he makes the big show without an adjustment in what I stated above, but that is something very minor. He has the vision, skating ability, pure skill and the size that makes any other team drool at his possibility - and I don't think he has 'let the Flames down yet'.

Let's see how seaosns 2, 3 and 4 go. I would be shocked if he finished 4 seasons in the NCAA - see him turning pro before then.

Jankowski.

But if we were voting on NHL readiness, my vote would go to Breen.
We're voting on a combination of the two, not just either one. It's up to you to weight it how you want.

Sure Breen is probably NHL ready and I'd like to see him make the Flames this season. But his upside is probably as a bottom pairing defenseman in the NHL whereas Wotherspoon is close to making the NHL (not quite as close as Breen) and has top 4 potential IMO.

Would you trade away Wotherspoon to land a Breen? If you answer no, then you should probably have Wotherspoon ahead of Breen in your list.

The list can almost be viewed as which prospects are most valuable to the Flames as assets.
