I'm not against exotic pet ownership per se, but I do think it just makes sense to own an animal that has thousands of years of animal husbandry for docility behind it.
Any word if the kids were bit? That particular breed bites. I do not believe the snake killed the kids.
Bry lyost of Indian river reptiles did an interview with urban jungle radio last night in which he says he has been in contact with the RCMP and that both kids had been to a farm or petting zoo earlier in the day up to about 10:30 that night and that both had bite marks.
I used to keep snakes and I am still involved in the community and this has shook it very hard. There are a lot of very upset people not just in Canada but world wide that someone was not properly housing a giant and that they were breaking the law in having it. Proper husbandry would never allow something like this to happen controlled and contained is the number one rule when keeping reptiles of any kind.
The whole situation is completely effed up. They had a reptile expert on The National last night. He got into a cage with one of these snakes and the thing immediately started hissing at him. He said that's a snake that should never be owned in a home.

Well we all knew that the cause of death would be that but I hope they dig deeper because it still doesn't add up. Was there bad bite wounds? Was there internal damage? Were the boys beside eachother?
