If Iginla signs with Vancouver it'll completely tarnish his legacy as a Flame in my eyes. Go and sign with your biggest rival for the vast majority of your career when you have teams lining up for your services most likely paying the same or more?

It's not the Kelowna Canucks.

Probably been said already but Iginla-Torts feels awfully close to Messier-Keenan for the Canucks.

Dont think the Nucks have cap space regardless.

That's fine, just like I don't have to give a crap about Iginla if he signs with the Oilers or Canucks.

Literally goes from starting one season with Calgary to starting with Vancouver the next? That's rough.

Huh . A comparable would be your ex-wife shacking up with your biggest enemy, so you become gay.

The bolded part is probably part of the problem. I doubt there are teams lining up for him. I am sure there are some that want him on a cheap contract or to play on the 3rd line, but i doubt every team is lining up for him to be on their top 6. Then you also have to factor in that the teams he wants to go to better at least have a legit shot at the playoffs.

Iggy better not be signing with the Canucks. If he does we will see a lot of people burning their Iggy jersey. Do us a favour, stay in the East.

I think he already made that statement. Sick and tired of hearing that any guy who is worth anything in this league for over 10-15 years of service DESERVES a cup or a run at it. No one deserves anything. Be a damn hockey player and try and help your team get there if you got any loyalty. I would rather spend 20 years on the Flames and do my best than do 15 years, screw off cause I wanted to touch a Cup and fail at it because "I" wanted it or felt I "deserved" it. There have been many great players in the HOF who never touched a cup and stuck it out with their team cause they were about the team. They were team players- hockey is a team sport. And man would I feel like an ass if I never did touch that Cup for my own selfish purposes and desserted the team and the fans who supported my ass and loved me for years only to not only come up empty handed Stanley wise, but fan wise.

Eh I lost all interest in what Iggy does this offseason, he can sign anywhere he pleases and it won't bother me enough to get angry (I will lose all of the respect I have for him as a player however) but if he really does want a shot at a cup, the Canucks are a laughable choice.

Stanley Cup is the ultimate prize fan loyalty only lasts as long as that player wears the jersey of the team they play for you have to make the money while you can and retire satisfied that you played your hardest.

I think you have it backwards. Iginla didn't want to go. The team didn't want to trade him. It was the fans that ran him out of town, no one else!

If Iggy wanted a cup ring, he should sign a 1 year deal in Calgary and then Calgary can trade his rights to a contending team for another first round pick at the deadline. But it won't work because I think I've heard that he was looking for a long term and good money as he feels he can be a pretty good player even at an advanced age. He did finish high in the scoring race during this year's playoffs, so he can still be useful to some teams.

How long does one touch Lord Stanley ? Is it worth 15 plus years of your loyal family ? these guys dont have to worry about money. Guess it depends on your personality I guess- people are different.

LAK and NYR are my guesses, with more leaning towards LA.
