If a 4th rounder turns into a player like Galiardi, you are pretty happy.

I would possibly move one of them, but not both. You need to sit on one of those high end guys. I'd be very hesitant to make a deal for any of our top end prospects at the moment. Wait and see what you have before moving a potential start player, even if it is for a guy who has 200+ games under his belt and is only 21.

Nice move! Only 25, had a good season and there's still upside. That's good value for a 4th round pick. Well done Feaster!
Also, for all the people who think we should have drafted Shinkaruk because he's a local kid: the Flames have now acquired two Calgarians within a couple days (Klimchuk and Galiardi) and let's also not forget Knight, who's from High River.

That third line looks like it could be really really good.

Like how they're bringing in some local boys. Galiardi, is of course, from Calgary.

Also, I think people are making too much out of the LW/RW thing. You can move a young player to the off wing. If we end up in a situation where we have 2 young first line left wingers, it's not a huge problem to fix. Cammalleri is not here long term either. I also think we trade Hudler before Stempniak.
|
Yea, I've never really understood this either, RW was always my favorite position to play as a LH shot as it was easier to cut in and get a good shot. Guy Lafleur style. IMO it's WAY more important on defense.

Great trade Feaster. This is not the first time i have had to congratulate Feaster on moves in the last 2 weeks. Keep it up.
For a guy that said "he is not the right guy for a rebuild", he is doing a hell of a lot better job than when he thought he was the guy for a veteran team.

Great trade.
I could be mistaken here but didn't Galiardi play on a line with David Jones in Colorado? I seem to remember them having some chemistry on their 3rd line.

That soft, soft first line. Really need to swap Sven and Glencross.
Also, solid trade. Interesting to see where bodies go from here.

I was a goalie but whenever I played forward I loved playing the left side as a right handed shot. I guess it's all what you feel more comfortable doing but I always felt better protecting the puck coming down my off-wing.
The Russians seem to do it lots, the guy we picked 22nd overall, Emile Poirier, does it too.

I am curious what the Flames plan to do with all the NHL elgible players they currently have?
Hopefully Feaster can begin to work some trades that see us moving two current players for one in return. We have yet to even hit free agency and I look at the roster and see no room for a bunch of the youth. Unfortunately too many spots are still filled by players that should no longer be on the club (Cammy and Jackman to name two).
