A good friend of mine recently introduced me to MB personality tests, and although it's now apparent to me that the outcome is heavily influenced by the type/complexity/thoroughness/etc. of the questions, they are fun and interesting. The best part is reading all about your type at various websites after you take the test, searching what types of people make good relationship matches, and reading about the best career choices for your type.
I am an INTP.
From http://typelogic.com/intp.html
INTPs are pensive, analytical folks. They may venture so deeply into thought as to seem detached, and often actually are oblivious to the world around them.
Precise about their descriptions, INTPs will often correct others (or be sorely tempted to) if the shade of meaning is a bit off. While annoying to the less concise, this fine discrimination ability gives INTPs so inclined a natural advantage as, for example, grammarians and linguists
INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to almost anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves.
A major concern for INTPs is the haunting sense of impending failure. They spend considerable time second-guessing themselves.
That is exactly me. I hadn't read the INTP profile from that page before, and it's scary accurate.

4 years has taken me from INTJ to INFJ, and once again I find myself nodding along with virtually everything in the description.

"Shock effect" is a favored technique of this type to get the attention of his audience. ESTPs love to be at center stage, demonstrating feats of wonder and daring.
Oh yeah, that would be me alright!!! Much to the delight of my audience and chagrin of my girlfriend, I LOVE to make an ass of myself

ISTJ here. Some of the stuff they say describes me to a 't'.
Quote:
ISTJs are easily frustrated by the inconsistencies of others, especially when the second parties don't keep their commitments. But they usually keep their feelings to themselves unless they are asked.
|
Quote:
"We've always done it this way" is often reason enough for many ISTJs.

Quote:
Like all Guardians, Inspectors hold dear their family social ceremonies-weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries - although they tend to be shy if the occasion becomes too large or too public. Generally speaking, Inspectors are not comfortable with anything that gets too fancy. Their words tend to be plain and down-to-earth, not showy or high-flown; their clothes are often simple and conservative rather than of the latest fashion; and their home and work environments are usually neat, orderly, and traditional, rather than trendy or ostentatious. As for personal property, they usually choose standard items over models loaded with features, and they often try to find classics and antiques - Inspectors prefer the old-fashioned to the newfangled every time.

Another INTJ here although I hate being labelled and labelling others. We're all unique and I take this as about as valid as a horrorscope. Can be fun though.

INTJ for me, although I've taken a test like this before and it came out as ENTJ. I guess it really depends on how I feel at the time.
Still, I must be getting old because I tend not to go for leadership responsibilities anymore (I must be getting lazy); have no problem with letting others take up the mantle so long as they're competent. I didn't used to be like this; used to step up at whatever opportunity arose.

I took this test probably in 2003 or maybe earlier and I was an ISTJ. Now I'm an ESTJ and I would definitely say that I have become more extroverted. And I agree with everything I read describing it. Cool test.

I took one of these about 4 years ago and was a ISTP, I took it again, and now I'm a ENTJ. I guess working in solitude in my house for a year and a half and trying to be a moderator on this site changed me ha ha. I blame living in Edmonton for why I became judgemental.

The question is, are we attracted to CP because we're INTJ or has CP made us INTJ?

ENTP. Describes me pretty well actually. This part is bang on:
Quote:
ENTPs are basically optimists, but in spite of this (perhaps because of it?), they tend to become extremely petulant about small setbacks and inconveniences. (Major setbacks they tend to regard as challenges, and tackle with determin- ation.) ENTPs have little patience with those they consider wrongheaded or unintelligent, and show little restraint in demonstrating this. However, they do tend to be extremely genial, if not charming, when not being harassed by life in general.

I have spent most of my life as an INTP, and am now just borderline ENTP, but this description is phenomenal. I'm even a linguist.

So, does the sentence

bother you as it much as it bothers me fellow intp'er?
I may be demonstrating my overcorrectiveness, but that sentense doesn't even make sense.

ESFP...and apparently the only one on CalgaryPuck
"Where's the party?" ESFPs love people, excitement, telling stories and having fun. The spontaneous, impulsive nature of this type is almost always entertaining. And ESFPs love to entertain -- on stage, at work, and/or at home. Social gatherings are an energy boost to these "people" people.
SPs sometimes think and talk in more of a spider-web approach. Several of my ESFP friends jump from thought to thought in mid-sentence, touching here or there in a manner that's almost incoherent to the listener, but will eventually cover the waterfront by skipping on impulse from one piece of information to another. It's really quite fascinating.
New! ESFPs are attracted to new ideas, new fashions, new gadgets, new ______. Perhaps it's the newness of life that attracts ESFPs to elementary education, especially to preschool and kindergarten.
ESFPs love to talk to people about people. Some of the most colorful storytellers are ESFPs. Their down-to-earth, often homespun wit reflects a mischievous benevolence.
Almost every ESFP loves to talk. Some can be identified by the twenty minute conversation required to ask or answer a simple factual question.

It said I'm an ENFJ, but really, I've done similar tests repeatedly and get different answers every time depending on my mood. Any one of those descriptions could fit me.
