I'm watching the press conference and I never heard him say that. I heard him say that Glencross was never put out there on the trading block by the Flames. He received many calls but because of the player and the value in his contract, he never wanted to move him.

Nope. The goal should be building a contender. Not scratching/clawing/sacrificing assets to get to the playoffs next year.

If they make the playoffs great, but a rebuild is what it is.

Not all teams can be the Senators or flyers that can turn a 3 year rebuild to a 1 year rebuild.

Jeeze. Like him, hate him, think he's a dummy, think he's a genius, regardless of what you thnk why do people fail to realize that Feaster is an NHL GM, and when he takes the podium, he's working. And tops on his list of things to accomplish while working is not to appease CP and the fans in regards to details on his plans. That is a much lower priority on his list than the following; keeping a player like Glencross who is still a Flame happy and to feel wanted, as well as posturing for future moves with GMs.

If you honestly believe that Feaster didn't even "listen" to deals for Glencross after taking 25+ phone calls, then you are smoking something. All that means is people called, they weren't even close to what it would take, so he didn't give it any serious consideration.

Full transperancy for the Fans is a stupid idea for a GM to do, keeping players happy and positioning yourself for future moves is a good thing to do. Accept you'll need to read between the lines when our GM speaks, this is not a situation unique to Calgary.

Be careful reading a summary versus watching the presser when you get home. Lots of people writing things in quotes that weren't said, taking comments out of context and completely butchering Feaster's comments.
