It's going to end up being a million and some change for whichever team gets him. For teams with 70M payrolls on players alone, it's a drop in the bucket if he does anything in the playoffs.

The season is almost up, his contract is almost over, he's owed very little at this point. His contract (price) is irrelevant.

I was talking about the cap hit that the team would have to incur should they get Iginla. Trading Iginla to any of these potential teams is either a)not possible unless salary is coming back b) takes away any flexibility of making any other moves at the deadline.

I don't think you know how this all works. Iginla's cap hit (and his salary) go down as the season progresses. His cap hit and salary are tiny at this point in the year.
