Haha, that's a great point; probably 5-10 spots difference at most. At least Cammy himself should be worth that second, or probably a first whenever they decide to trade him.

I think these days bidding wars are somewhat over hyped. Just going by memory, it seems that teams are more likely to intelligently walk away from the asking price rather than overpay. I remember often reading quotes from GMs stating that they had discussions, but the prices were just too high.
Especially with these 4 teams, they are already pretty damn good, so they can sleep soundly knowing that they didn't overpay for a rental. Teams build in the summer.
July 1st is always silly season. The trade deadline is less so.

That would be a nice way to sign off on an era where Iginla had more say in personnel decisions than any other player on any other NHL team.
A normal NHL team would never do that, but the Flames might.

As Pitt has alrady gone on the record stating that Morrow is untouchable...
Pouliot, Kennedy and 2013 1st gets it done for me.
Gives you a good prospect on the back end, a 26 year old, third line Center capable of better than .5 points per game in three out of his four years in the league (but more importantly, knows how to play defence), and another 1st round pick.
Sign the papers, Jay.

I hope the handing over of a list green lights Feaster for trading him to any team on the list without further consent. If Iginla has a ranking of teams on the list, I wouldn't want him to try and leverage the Flames to make a deal with a higher ranked team if they have a deal in place with a lower ranked team.
The Flames should be afforded to get the best possible deal from any team on Iginla's list.

The Flames play the Blackhawks in Chicago to close out the season.
Awkward!

Exactly, at some point this soap opera has to become about what is best for the Calgary Flames.

We should make a list of all CPers that are happy to see him go, and then see how many are still around when Flames are sucking it up like the Oilers and the Islanders

I really like Kennedy a lot and think he could be a good second line center who plays all situations. I still am fairly certain an elite prospect comes back so these teams can say some player is untouchable all they want, if there is a bidding war they are going to lose said-untouchable. These teams needs to realize that they are dealing from positions of weakness because there are other teams aggressively pursuing and there really isn't anyone near Iginla's caliber available.

They are already sucking worse than the Oilers and the Islanders, with Iginla in the lineup.

Ya, the list is the most reasonable and professional compromise for what's best for both Iggy and the Flames.

This is already happening, and it seems most of us are still around.

If possible, from PITT, to get something along the lines of Dumoulin, Jeffrey, and a 1st. Beau Bennett is interesting as well.
If Iggy goes, it'll be interesting to see the return. All I'm hoping for is not a package of spare parts like the Phaneuf trade.

I am less concerned with where he goes, and more concerned with what we get back.
If trading with Edm or Van gives us the most back - you have my blessing Jay.
