They just finished last a bunch of times, I don't see how that's a real effort.

See this what's confusing the hell out of us. You keep reffering to yourself as a bandwagon fan, but at the same time saying you've been asked why you don't cheer for another team, to which you respond that you're holding out hope that the Flames will strive to win again. Which is not a bandwagon fan, that's sticking with your team, which is the exact opposite of what that other guy is saying, which is that he's ditching the Flames for a new team.

I hold out hope that the flames organization will once again strive to be a winning organization. At the moment I'm not sure they give a damn about anything.

And just for the record I am still a Flames fan. I'll always be a Flames fan but that doesn't mean that I can't criticize this lack lustre version. Who the hell are you to say whether I'm a bandwagon fan or not. What I am is an unsatisfied fan who expects change for the better.

Man, you really are confused. No one is saying what you think they're saying.

NO ONE is saying you're bandwagon fan. NOT A SINGLE PERSON. We're actually trying to tell you that you're NOT a bandwagon fan. I haven't seen anyone this confused in a thread since flameswin was confused as to how a ######ed pizza box invention belonged in the funny and cool picture/video thread.

Where exactly did I state I was a bandwagon fan???? It's obvious that some of you don't read the posts, you just interpret what you want. Or is it that you just try to be confrontational because you have nothing to offer.

I would think that most Flames fans would be hoping if there is a 2013 1st round pick involved in the deal that Iginla's new team loses each and every single game.
Not likely that if Iginla decides to waive it will be to a team that has any chance of missing the playoffs.

What would be nice is if one of the team potentially interested (Kings, Penguins, Bruins, etc.) has a 2013 first rounder from a team that will be a 1-5 1st rounder that they could trade as part of the package for Iginla.

Or similar idea getting a team who is interested for a trade for Kipper if they have a 1st rounder that will be in top 1-8. I realize Kipper no longer has the NTC so Feaster could trade him to anyone.

I do agree with 1stLand insofar as that Iggy has had a disproportionate effect on the strategic direction of the Flames.

It HAS to come to an end at some point, its holding this club (and Iggy back).

Let's just get it over with.

The team's done bugger. He's an older all-star, doesn't have all-star youth around him just other older stars and he doesn't have what it takes to be the goto guy anymore. He's a complimentary piece on a contender and that's what the Flames need to give him. Iggy gave the Flames many years of elite hockey, I'm grateful for all of it and I feel bad that he wasted 3 prime years of hockey with a Brent Sutter team that was broken from the start. He definitely is the one that needs to be freed from Calgary imo.
