It should not be in play for a retread who might help the team get to eighth.

Zero? I imagine Feaster, as GM, made a deal with autonomy he felt made the team better.

Avs must think so. What's more of an unkown right now...O'Reilly or whoever the Flames will pick in the first round?

It was a bold move, let's hope that ROR struggles when he is back in the line up.

I don't know about that. I doubt Feaster has full autonomy in the case of an offer sheet. Not with Murray as an owner at least.

Interested to see what Feaster has to say here. I wish this could have went at least one day I was hoping to have more time imagining the Flames with a 22 year old top centre

No, let's hope he tears it up so we know our gm can evaluate talent. Jfc

LOL.

Sherman looked about as neutral as possible. And Sportsnet is making fun of his comments. His hand was forced.

You must have seen a completely different interview or were trying to fit the interview to your position.

Pat Steinberg ‏@Fan960Steinberg Feaster: "O'Reilly accepted his qualifying offer very quickly. He wanted to be a Calgary Flame." #Flames

Glad to here this to be honest. Too many players have turned us down

His comments were laughably dishonest.

Hmm, sounds like Feaster wants to stick it to the Avs organization.

Yeah, no kidding. If anything, he seemed more subdued than anything.

"We wanted to get O'Reilly under contract, and now he is and we move forward as a hockey club"

Seriously disappointed. Was looking forward to this week as had this move went through, it would be meant a whole lot of other moves.

Edwards alleged meddling habits seem to be limited to 'don't trade iginla'. I can't really see where going after RoR would require his blessing, we aren't dealing with a Richards contract here.

No kidding. Complete BS. Neil Smith picked apart the entirety of his statement as a complete lie - as in every single sentence.

Well, the signing of the offer sheet by ROR communicated that without any extra words required at the time of signing, or after by Feaster. Of course he wanted to be a Flame...but he's not, and time to move on.

I don't think that had anything to do with the offer.

Uch, this is the kind of crap I can't stand and Feaster just loves. I'm glad he went for it but stop feeding us these consolation quotes. Yeah yeah yeah, they went hard after Richards and O'Reilly wanted to be a Calgary Flame. Well Richards isn't a Flame and neither is O'Reilly. I'm glad you tried but you don't need to just go for homeruns either. Drives me crazy and very Oilers-esque about how they are going to go hard after free agents or whatever. Let your actions speak but also let the quality of the team speak.

I think there is a good chance he comes here in the summer of 2014 when the Avs decide not to qualify him
