I really don't like how this team is built. There is 1 centre in the lineup right now. Horak and Cervenka prefer the wing. Trade some wing depth for a legit C. Better yet trade old assets for young and enter the summer flush with assets, cap space and a high pick

I think it's just the same half assed, lazy work ethic that has surrounded this team for the last 5 years. It's pathetic.

a game to remember for Feaster's fans next time he pulls the wool over our eyes with crappy band-aid "solution" that will not work no matter how much we want to give it a "chance"

This schedule should scare Hartley. LA is basically a more talented version of the Coyotes, big and good defensively. Although they've struggled to begin the season, they will likely roll over the Flames with their depth at center. Things could be looking very ugly for the Flames by Sunday night.

2 blowouts in 3 games. If we dont get at least 8 points in the next 5 games we should tank it for a draft pick.

This age excuse is getting old (pun unintended)

It's not the average age, it's where the old players are distributed. When your best player is 36, has an untouchable mythical aura around him from the organization and is playing like hot garbage, age is a problem.

does it surprise anyone that the only line with grit was able to get chances tonight? phoenix doesn't allow the smaller softer player much room, you have to create it.
Props to jackman for fighting (though not for continuing to hit bissonette with the jersey over his head) and crashing mike smith

They didn't lose tonight because they are old. They lost because they weren't very good. Phoenix are a very comparable team when it comes to age. Their captain and arguably best player is close to the same age as iginla. They had better goaltending for sure, but this team has a lot of overpaid players, and as a result aren't very deep, and subsequently aren't a very good team. Just my opinion. Our centres are a gong show.

Iginla is still 35 (also not the best player)

Didn't get too excited about last nights game cause this team is just too Jekyll and Hyde. Lets face the facts we're a .500 team. We'll win a few games but I don't think we'll get past the .500 mark. There's a lot of posters that won't agree with this but let's face the facts we wont make the playoffs there's just too many holes. The trade deadline will be very interesting this year.

Is anyone else getting pissed off about Stajan whining to the refs after every single whistle. It wasn't just tonight (even though he had good reason to), but he's been doing it all year. It's getting downright embarrassing.

That 4th goal was as bad as it gets. The team had put together a good couple shifts, (sure not that it matters but they hadn't totally given up) and a bad angle shot from the boards goes through him as if he wasn't ready and had given up. That should drive Hartley nuts if Blair Jones' compete level wasn't as he wanted. All the Flames turning away in disgust summed that up.

Not really. At least he is trying to stir things up, not saying I like the constant whining but I'll take just about any show of emotion right about now. On the give-a-care scale the Flames are flat-lining.

They announced a week ago that he would be 2 weeks at the earliest. That mean at least one more week.
I don't think he will be back in a week. He has the same injury as Backlund and that's 4-6 weeks. So if Kipper has the mildest phase 2 injury that Backlund has that means 4 weeks. He is probably 2 weeks away from now.

How other old players are managed on other teams is irrelevant to the Flames. We don't get points for other teams successfully using their old players.
