If you go to the site, they explain the methodology and then the numbers make sense

Hmmm........ we're over the 10% games played mark and at 4 points....... what do you all forecast?

Not that it matters, but we have 2-games in hand against are division, which if won would let us stand 2 points behind the leader for 3rd.

The weighted odds at sportsclubstats.com aren't usable yet. That's because the assumption is that games against teams with worse records will be easier. But in reality a team like Philadelphia isn't going to be a .333 team all season as an example. You'd have to use 50/50 for at least another 2-3 weeks I'd say.

Statistical voodoo aside, I am still going with 50/50 despite the disappointing start. My complicated math formula is: We either make the playoffs, or we don't .

I think the Colorado and Chicago games could have been wins if not for the mental frailty that still plagues this team. The talent is there though.

Agree on all accounts. But in such a short season there is very very little room for error. We have games in hand which is nice, but you have to actually win those games to make a difference. We absolutely have to pick up 2 wins on the upcoming 3 game road trip, preferably picking up a loser point in the loss. I don't think their current record accurately depicts what the team is capable of, but unless they want to rely on needing an epic win streak later, they need to get s#*t sorted now.

As per recent years, we're probably going to win games that we have no business winning (like maybe winning both games in a back to back, or beating teams on a hot streak, etc etc) so the last 2 that we lost will likely even out somewhere.

I still don't know what to think of this team though. Probably by game 20 we'll have an idea, although based on the last few years I think that was when we went on those world beater runs, so who knows.

Whatevs though. I'm dating a Canucks fan, and we have a sister office in Edmonton that constantly talks smack about us, so as long as we beat those 2 teams who cares.

That said, anyone got any good ideas what I can do with a signed burrows jersey and a Canucks coffee mug? It's killing me looking at them every day. Keep in mind "killing it with fire" = "no sexy times for Tron", so I'm open to all ideas that won't get me thrown out of the house.

Put in on, dive on the floor and then complain to the ref in a french accent. This will = lots of sexy time.

I look at the drive for the playoffs as a ladder you start in the middle. Eight rungs above us at the start is the playoffs (56 pts). We took 3 steps down and climbed back to the start. Now with 40 games left we have to climb only eight more rungs.

Get her to wear the sweater while bending her over, you guys can even get a little role play going, get her to put on a fake french accent and pretend your Brad Marchand or something.

I don't think he wants a domestic assault charge.

Start the sexy time off and escalate into real kinky F***ery, have her throw on the jersey and tear it to shreds claiming "in the heat of passion". Make sure Canucks mug is close by as the coup de grace

I bet my friend in EDM 20 bucks each (4 of them) that the Flames would finish ahead of the Oilers in the standings this year. They all laughed their asses off and said it would be the easiest 20 bones ever. Im sure they're sweating a little bit now haha

Don't you find it sad that it's not a given anymore? For the past few years we would all make fun of them and say how bad of a team they are and now we're not even sure if we'll finish ahead of them.... If that's not a sign then I don't know what is

Well they did suck for 10 years, and have like 8 first overall picks. Eventually you're going to rise up from the ashes.
