I had mine done 12 years ago. It really wasn't a big deal. I was a bit sore. Kind of like I had been kicked in the nuts 2 hours ago. I milked it for couch/football viewing time for the whole weekend. would do again.

Where did you get it done? From what I've been reading, a couch, sports on the tube, ice, and a weekend is pretty much all that is needed

I can;t remember exactly where but the doctor's name was Dr. Burn. (That was unnerving) I do remember he had a hot nurse assisting.

Had mine done by Pierre Crouse at intramed on 17th Ave. $100 was the cost for supplies and it was painless. as weird as it is to say youd recommend someone to cut your junk I would recommend him

Had beers with a buddy last night who is looking to get his reversed. He wanted kids, his wife didn't. So he got cut a couple years back. No he's divorced and apparently being infertile makes less marketable to the 20 - somethings he's into these days. He says it costs $10,000 to reverse, but he might get it covered if he complains enough about pain.

WHAT THE ####!?!?!?!?!
I got mine done by the Vasman. The day after I went to Heritage Park, mistake, they swelled up like to over rip plums.
I went back to see him, I was concerned about my expanding discoloured ballsac.
I stood in one of his examining rooms with my pants/underwear around my ankles while he fondled and squeezed my balls asking "Does it hurt"?
Yeah, my swollen, purple balls hurt when you squeeze them!
He tells me it is normal, and that it should go away.
To top it off, I went and got tested after waiting the 3 months. I didn't put any down range for 2 weeks so I got a large sample size.........
He called me and told me he had good news and bad news.
Bad news is I failed.........
Good news was "the second time is free"......
#### THAT!!!!
I am happy you had an easy time of it but I wanted to ensure that people knew that it ain't all free cookies and juice.

This is something my wife and I have discussed many times. We are very happy with where we are and what we have. I've read painful stories regarding the reversal

Nah, I didn't ask to be honest. He rang me when I was was on my way to a job, and very busy. As soon as he said "failed" I have visions of purple plum ballsacs dancing in my head.......
It is my understanding that the boyd tries and sometimes successed in repairing itself.

Ya, sometimes they fail. My first sample came back showing dead swimmers when it should have showed none at all. I had to do another test 3 months later, and it came back all good.
Best advice I received was to not be a hero. Lay down, ice your stuff, order a pizza, and watch some movies for a couple days. These are your balls dammit. Get them healed properly. They've served you well for 30-40 years, the least you can do is give them the respect they deserve..

One of the funniest things for me was when the nurse was telling me that you have to "work at it" to get all them out of your system. I was dreading dropping off the sample (like hey guys, guess what I was just doing!) so I waited for about a year....and still didn't get the all clear. I had to go back again and that time it was all good.
Its not necessarily that the procedure doesn't work, just that somehow some managed to survive or something.
All of this pales in comparison to the hilarity of one guy I know though. He was having some sperm frozen and they sent him to a room. To help him out though they put on some transvestite porn! He was just stunned, and thinking "what the hell do these guys think I'm into?" At the same time he didn't want to go back to the desk or whatever and complain...just overall awkward, as if the situation wasn't bad enough.

The guy I went to (at Intramed) told me that I'd need to put 20-25 down range pre-test, to ensure "the pipes are clean".

I've been meaning to post an update in this thread for the past year, so I'm happy someone bumped it.
I'll start by saying I don't know if I would recommend Vasman.
My buddy and I had this done there on the same day. He (immediately afterwards), and I (about 6 months after the procedure), have pain that is still present to this day. Re-reading my post, I'm wondering now if it was related to the problems he seemed to have on one side.
TMI:
Coincidence? Possibly. He has called to get help, but never received a return call. I live on the other end of town, am busy with work (see: too lazy when home), I don't think about it until it's too late, and just haven't gotten around to going in. My own fault for not going in yet, but I still don't know if I would recommend Vasman.
Thanks again for the bump. I've tried calling multiple times today but it's always busy. I'll post another update after I go back in to see if anything can be done.

I got mine done at intramed. It was quick and everything seemed to go smoothly. Now 2 months after I had it done I still have pain on one side. Probably going to have to call and find out what is going on down stairs....

On a side note, his nurse assistant was smoking hot. I tried to think happy thoughts during the procedure, but not too happy if you know what I mean.

Another vote for Dr. Crouse at Intramed. Apparently the dude performs over 2500 vasectomies per year, so I'd consider him somewhat of an expert. (although that is an awful lot of time to spend staring at other mens' nuts) He was super nice and very professional, and made a pretty damn awkward situation as bearable as he could.
The procedure itself......Yarg. I hear all these stories about guys barely feeling anything and going out and playing hockey the same day and I start to wonder if the universe hates me, because mine felt like I was having my intestines torn out through my ballsac. Maybe it just didn't freeze properly and I didn't say anything because I didn't want to feel like a wuss, but it was seriously one of the most horrible experiences of my life. I almost passed out, and Dr. Crouse had to let me lay on his couch upstairs in the waiting room until I recovered enough to drive home. I didn't get the huge grapefruit swelling like some of the horror stories I've heard, but I had some pretty significant discomfort for a couple weeks and sometimes it felt like there was something sharp in there. After a month or so it was fine - and the first screening gave me the all clear so the good Dr. did his job right, but wow did it suck.
