No goals against at EV too. They are a hard working group. And Irving did very well with 35 saves.

That interview with Estoclet during the intermission was really interesting. Troy Ward is such a driven coach.

Man, the Heat look absolutely great this year.

And it looks to me like it's largely the fault of the coaching staff.

Worried that the org may have made the wrong choice not bringing up Ward to coach the big club.

I couldn't care less to be honest.

The Heat are so much fun to watch right now. 10-1-1-2 now I believe.

Hey, if we picked Ward instead, he wouldn't be coaching at all right now.

Anyways, Heat win 3-2! They're alone as the best team in the AHL. Goals from Laing, Sven, and Byron.

No thanks.

The top prospects on the Heat are the next gen of Flames, just like (I hope) Ward is the next gen coach.
I'd rather he built his relationship with the kids in the AHL now while Feaster clears out the old guard.

How Ward has coached the AHL club is how I imagine Hartley will coach the NHL club. Lots of respect between those two guys for each other. (And Feaster thinks they're both great, too.)

Flames are very strong right now on the coaching front, organizationally.

I am happy with Feaster and Hartley but judging by this past draft and the Heat early start Weisbroad and Ward are the most valuable assets this organization has

Woot Heat are amazing this year. I hope the nhl stays locked out all year, so the flames don't ruin what these guys have going.

If the Heat win the Calder Cup I'm going to get Barry Brust's face tattoed on my back.

Are you ready for the litigation that will arise from your tattoo constantly bodychecking people?

Some observations from seeing the game live last night: Brodie was the best player on the ice. Dominant puck control. Big minutes. All over the place. Baertchi is amazingly opportunistic and he is fast and feisty. Pure talent. Irving was strong. Byron got stronger as the game wore on. Excellent speed and puck control. I wanted to notice Horak and Rhinehart but they didn't do much. Breen is large. Sylvester is not.

And my son has a huge thanks to Sven for the autograph and Kolanos for the game puck. Go Heat!

lost in a biased call/highlight package that was this broadcast.
but didn't you enjoy the "we lost....but look at these hits!" package at the end?

oh and hilarious call of the byron goal "and its poked in out front by......poked it through"

I was late to the party last night and only caught the 3rd, but was the play by play guy actually suggesting Rochester has only been .500 because teams have to play them harder?
