Indiana getting upset by the Gophers should make for some shuffling out of Number 1 if Michigan, Gonzaga can win out this weekend. The Zags have a bit of an easier path than Michigan with that MSU game.
More upsets
#4 Michigan stumbles in the last minute to Pen.
RobinsonIII mised the easy layup with 48 sec left that would have made it a 1 pt game.
84-78.
#7 Georgetown hangs on to beat UCON by 1 in double OT thriller. You can never count out the Huskies.

Well, stupid Wichita State lost to Evansville again and have now put themselves in a situation where they have to beat Creighton in Omaha on Saturday to win the Valley title.
They match up well with Creighton, but that's a tall order.

Remarkable acheivement and congrats to Mark few and his group.

isn't that outstanding for the Zags! The 7ft Canadian big-man Olynyk. Can't wait to see how well they do in March Madness.
Congrats to Zags fans, and it is a solid achievement. But man, that's a pretty cake schedule to get a number one. I see one decent victory there, and they lost to a couple teams that aren't looking so hot any more (We just beat Butler by 32 points!).
They usually play a tougher schedule than that. Time for them to move up a conference though, the WCC is pretty weak. Too bad they weren't a little closer, they'd be a nice addition to the A10.

Yeah that has to be one of the worst records for a #1 team ever. You can only beat who you paly though, so it's hard to hold it against them. Would've been nice if they'd managed to play in one of the more legit tip-off tournaments, just turned out that the Old Spice Classic was fairly weak this year.

They do have wins over the current 9th ranked team and the current 13th ranked team. St Mary's is ranked in the coaches' poll, and the Zags are obviously 2-0 against them. So, Against currently ranked (in either poll) teams, the Zags are 4-0.
One of the Zags' two losses is on a last second shot to lose by 1 - against a Butler team that had won 12 straight coming into the game.
The other loss was to a team that was 9-0 coming into the game, and really was a much closer game that the 11 point final differential.
Of course, they never are going to have a super difficult schedule playing in the WCC. They do however, have the best record in the NCAA by far.
Also, If Indiana is the top school from a major conference, they lost to the same two teams that the Zags lost to this season.
No idea where I stand on Gonzaga. Tough to think of too many teams that would be harder to beat in the tournament on a neutral court than beating the pokes at home. I also don't think that Duke, Indiana, Miami and say Kansas would lose to Butler without Rotnei.
Sidenote: Butler has 3 wins on buzzer beaters and 2 of those are absolutely ridiculous shots. I'm not punishing them for winning close games, but I'm just keeping in mind that Butler is 2 ridiculous shots away from only having beaten Indiana, Marquette, Temple and UNC.
Back to Gonzaga... If the 1 and 2 seeds in the West Region are them and New Mexico then that region of the bracket could be a disaster to pick.

I think Gonzaga would have a chance, but my money would be on a healthy Duke on a neutral court. With Kelly back in the lineup, I think they are the team to beat.
I watch a lot of A10, and think my home team (VCU) can beat anyone when they're shooting well (which is not always the case). But Saint Louis looked crazy good against us and Butler, and is really hot right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a deep run in the tournament.

Michigan averted disaster and got lucky on a late come back on Purdue.
If it wasn't to a Back to back late 3's by Canadian Stauskas it was a definite upset and if Burke doesn't go nuts with the team responding putting up a remarkable 40pts in the last 11 min it would have been the upset loss.

Difference of winning and losing at the end of the Indiana vs Michigan game. Tip goes 3 bounces on the rim at the buzzer, rolls off.
#2 Indiana 72 -71 #7 Michigan.
