So wierd here; I grew up in Surrey, yes I"m a gangster warrior, where thered be hundreds of kids out till the late hours of 10-11.

Probably a product of the weather.

I live on 26 ave, and didn't get a single kid.

I think I've had 3 or 4 in the last 8 years I've lived there. Needless to say I give out $20 bills to whoever shows up.

33 in Chinook Park. More than Inglewood last few years. Next year I want to hand out hot chocolate or something to the parents so we can meet a few more neighbors.

Our 9 yr old went hard and reaped a pretty good haul, a few full size bars. Our 12 yr old and his buddy pussied out early. Kids these days, can't take the cold I guess.

We had about 25-30 in Mckenzie Towne. I don't really know for sure since I was out with our kids for the 30 mins that everyone came. I can just guess by how many bags of chips are left.

Im in Reunion in Airdrie. This neighbourhood is nothing but young couples and children. I got home at 730 last night the main Blvd had about 150 people on it. Im thinking "Oh crap I hope we have enough".

I go down 3 blocks and theres about 5 people on my street.

About 15 came to our door. We actually took Ziploc freezer bags (large), filled them with candy and left them on the front step.

Nobody took them. I dont get it anymore. Halloween is dead, and nothing like when I was a kid.

I don't think Halloween is dead, but there is definitely a shift in tradition. I see lots of parents taking kids to malls instead of going house to house. In a way, I get why. The kids can wear their costumes without needing to wear a jacket, it's well lit, and parents can have more things to do. It is kind of sad though, as growing up, Halloween always meant freezing nights of collecting candy from the local community.

31 here in Okotoks and talked to a couple of my co-workers and they got around the same.

Trick or treating is definitely a dieing tradition. Back in the 1960's there would be hundreds /thousands of kids out trick or treating in any given area. The sidewalks would be packed with kids. I would estimate that the average household would see 200+ kids in a night. I remember I used to come home with a pillow case that was full of candy.

Trick or treating at a mall? That is absolutely pathetic. Wow. Let's create feel good moments for our kids at a mall so that in the future, when they want to feel happy, they come back and spend spend spend.

I spent the night on a chair in front of my house with my zombie face on, scaring the kids and talking with the parents, enjoying the atmosphere. There's nothing like the feel of a crisp October evening with the sound of excited kids roaming the neighborhood. Pumpkins are flickering on the doorsteps. Here and there, a spooky howl or the cackling of a witch is heard.

These are the good memories we (I'm assuming) all have and it is our duty to pass these things on to the next generation. Associate happiness with being outside, not in a fricking mall. Any parent that takes their kid(s) there for Halloween deserves a swift kick to the groin.

75 for us. Down from 120 last year.

The cold definitely affected the numbers as people prefer the mall when it's cold out.

Live in Cranston - we had 46 this year. Down from last years total of 62...

Yup, the weather probably played a part for sure. There was a lot of cold looking kids out there. And props to the little guy in the Captain America costume. That one was awesome...

I had the same experience. Drove onto Reunion blvd and it was jammed.. We did run out, I had to make an emergency candy run.

We had about 45 this year, up from 0 last year. I was one of the first to move onto my street. A lot more families on this street now.

We had 75 at our place in Langdon. Normally around 100, but the weather scared a few off.
