vote #2 for JJ. Star Trek is no longer crappy thanks to him. And everyone who's about to type something about lens flares, well you can fffff...ind something else to complain about. I'll take excessive lighting and Apple store ships over 2 straight hours of green screen Lucas garbage any day.
Definitely hope that they don't screenwrite some random crap but adapt Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire, as mentioned above. Grand Admiral Thrawn, Mara Jade, Rukh, Joruus C'Baoth ... some great characters there that a good director could do wonders with.
I haven't touched any Star Wars books since I was in high school but I still fondly remember this trilogy.

It’s also making a seventh movie in the Star Wars series called Episode 7, set for release in 2015, with plans to follow it with Episodes 8 and 9 and then one new movie every two or three years.
They should give Lucas and extra billion if he agrees to a restraining order.
Seriosuly, how about giving Spielberg the shot he was supposed to get in Return of the Jedi? I've honestly wondered how much better Jedi would have been if he was directing instead of the nobody who ended up directing it.

if they go from the stories that Lucas had already written for episodes 7, 8, and 9, then you could have the original cast back (if they would ever agree to it). if i remember right he had the new trilogy taking place several decades after ROTJ, focusing on Leia as Chancellor of the New Republic, Luke heading up the new Jedi academy (with Leia and Han's kids as students). he had pretty strict rules for any author wanting to write about anything post-ROTJ for this reason (but anything not related to his original universe he didn't really care about, like KOTOR). all of the official Star Wars books are considered canon, so this new trilogy is almost definitely going to be based on something

I doubt Hamill or Fisher would even be able to reprise their roles (they both look pretty rough 30 years later). Ford on the other hand might be a possibility, but you would have to think they would want an all or nothing type of scenario (unless someone turns down the offer).

well it's either original actors or recasting, because the original characters will be in this series (that's why it's episode 7, and not something else entirely). if it's a recast, then i 100% approve of Nathan Fillon playing Han Solo (just typing that gives me a nerd boner)
