I agree with the commentator stating that they should not have posted the results prior to being sure. Any fool knows these guys pour their heart and souls into preparing for these events and that if you are going to declare results, win or lose, you better be damn sure!
Pretty weak.

It looks like a massive one on the line for sure. The other 2 or 3 look pretty darn close too. Then you'd have to zoom in like crazy and argue on those ones.

I think he steps on it again right before the baton exchange.. very slight though.
I guess the conclusion is that Canada wouldn't have finished 3rd if they didn't cut the corner because they were 5th at the exchange.

Still for me, it's the race more than the result. Great a great run that was!
Building blocks!

Yeah, there were a few pretty close ones, i did a frame by frame in HD and you can see it was once.
Did it because I thought they'd have a good shot at an appeal until you could clearly see he stepped on the line. Poor team, very deflating and he seemed to know it was him right away.

This better fuel them to work harder and in the next 4 years they will hopefully win a medal higher than bronze.

True but Canadian athletics has been a joke. We were finishing last in semifinals!

I also like that the Trinidadians(sp?) were very quiet in the celebrations.. bronze is a HUGE achievement for them too and they didn't rub it in.

I trust Jarred's team mates will convince him that they don't blame him. Regardless, I don't think he will ever completely get over what happened today. It'd be great if he got a heroes welcome when he gets back to Canada, he deserves it because he gave it his all and made a mistake. #### happens, sometimes on the world stage. Just bad timing.

Nobody would want to win that way. Well, certainly most wouldn't want that - I'm sure there would be some Dbag on the globe that would.

No kidding, I even feel gutted watching that, can't imagine how they feel. Kinda glad the Olympics are pretty much over now, I can't take any more of these moments. Unreal.
But as mentioned, great run overall and something to build on for Rio. And awesome getting one last look at Bolt in London, legendary. How can anyone not love that guy

Canada has competitors in the Men's Marathon, Men's Mountain Biking, Men's 66kg and Men's 96kg Wrestling tomorrow. Hopefully we will see some medals on the last day of the Olympics.
I miss the Olympics already.

Feel so bad for Connaughton.
Met him a few times at PEI track meets when we were younger. He was such a great kid, very humble for someone that won every race before it even started. I'm very happy to see all the positive posts from the folks in this thread, I'm sure it will mean a lot to him to know he still has the support of the entire country.
Hopefully he gets a chance at redemption in 2016.

They can forgive him, but if they tell him it's not his fault that would just be empty platitudes - it was his fault.

A lesson has been learned by all here this afternoon, you don't let the whites run track and field for you. Leave it for the blacks, they're superior.
