Just pics I've seen. If I can find one again, I'll post the link.

I hope all those leaked photos are wrong.

The phone looks terrible on the back with the different materials (two skinny bands across the top/bottom of one material, then a different material for the super wide band at the back). Also, it looks just like the iPhone 4 from the side and top, apart from being taller. Seriously, when I buy something new I want it to look better/different than the thing I'm replacing. This does not look like an upgrade. Hopefully the actual phone is better.

I thought it looked pretty sleek. I doubt much will change other than the headphone jack going to the bottom, the smaller charging dock and the actual size, including a 4" screen. Rumours have stated it will be pretty much the thinnest phone of it's size out there, 1 mm thinner than the Galaxy S3 for example.

Tell that to anyone that wants to use SMB on Lion.

Maybe its more prevalent on the computer side of things, but I look at the iOS devices, and I can't charge anything past 3rd or 4th gen on my iOS compatible car stereo, I can't charge my iPad with the older wall chargers, and can't use the firewire charger for anything past a 2nd gen classic.

Yeah, but you also want the thing to flip like a tricorder.

Thin will go a long way with me, so hopefully it is the thinnest. It's hard to see that in the photos, though.

It's coming, kunk...better warm up to the idea or you'll be carrying around a backpack with your phone in it by 2015 at the rate these things are increasing in size!

This is why I'd never, ever, get a car that had ties to proprietary connectors or third party electronics. Considering I keep my vehicles for as long as practical, and that my portable electronics are going to gen every 2-3 years, it's insane to think it's going to remain compatible for the lifespan of the vehicle. Highly integrated iPod connections/featuers are slick to be sure, but I knew this was going to happen eventually.

As an aside, you can charge the iPad with the older wall chargers, it's just slower - and actually better for the battery.

It's crazy to think that shaving 2 mm off the thickness of the existing iPhone 4 design (essentially making the front and back flush with the stainless steel band) makes the phone something like 30% thinner.

I'd be shocked if they were fake/wrong for a couple reasons:

1. Those shots are of pretty high quality and making fake replicas like that is incredibly hard to do.

2. There's been very little difference between the models, especially lately. The 4 and the 4S are basically indistinguishable.

It's an aftermarket deck, not the entire car.

Really? Because mine shows that it's very much not charging.

It does charge, while the screen is off.

Slowly Really slowly, like on USB, so it's most useful for overnight charging. But you'll notice the iPad doesn't get as warm while charging, and slower charge rates are always better for batteries in general.

That's not so bad - but I've heard that there are cars out there with the iPad connector built right in, which just seems crazy to me.

All 30 pin though? Most I've seen are just the regular USB end which then interfaces with a usb/30 pin cable, which I would think would still work with the new connector. Curious. I wonder if those systems will be compatible or not.

I'm using these bad boys. Quite happy with them so far. I've always had the same problem getting earbuds to stay in my ears, but these guys don't even fall out at the gym.

Here's a couple more leaked shots of the upcoming, as-of-yet-unnamed Samsung phone:

It looks like a slight change from the 4/4s, nothing really huge. Wish Apple would get rid of their own plug in, why can't they just use microUSB. Another thing that makes it harder to switch back if this phone is top notch. I would hope the back isn't black at the top and bottom and grey on the bottom. That's pretty ugly.

Mind you, I think the look of a phone is highly overrated anyways. Since 95% of people put covers on them, and most of those are ugly as crap.

I'm one of the smart 5% who don't BTW.

I you want to try a phone cover that doesn't overtake the design of the iPhone, I use the Bookback for IPhone by DODOcase. It's a piece of leather that adheres to the back. It can be removed without leaving residue and stays stuck.

I'd be quite surprised if they were fake as well. It's a letdown they are just sticking with outdated styling (with the addition of ugly stripes) on their latest and greatest product. I liked apple when they were breaking new ground almost yearly. Not since the 4 have they done anything that remarkable with the phone and the UI is still caught in a time warp from 2007.

Hopefully the hardware end will blow everything else out of the water, but looking at these picture and the same tired interface is making me sleepy.

It would be nice if the fanbois (not insinuating anybody here is one) would be more critical of this lack of innovation on Apple's part to motivate them to put a little more effort into the phone.

I'm not sure why we want a new style... and what is "tired" about the interface?

I'm happy with the shape it is. It fits my clock/radio. It fits my armbands. It fits most car cradles. Why mess with what is working for people?

And as for the interface, I've never minded it in the past. What needs to be improved upon? I admit I have never used an Android phone so maybe I just don't know what I am missing, but from where I sit, I'm happy if they leave well enough alone but just improve the hardware.
