Niederreiter has 1 point in 49 games and is a -24 for the Isles this year. Pretty sure we don't need him.

He's also playing 8 minutes a night with Reasoner and Wallace on the Islanders. I'm pretty sure Baertschi would be limited to 8 points in that situation (and they're basically the same age...off be merely weeks).

Baertschi was playing with Nemisz and TKO with slightly more ice-time. Niederreiter will turn out to be a 30-35 point player at best.

I have no clue what kind of player Niederreiter will turn into, but getting players because of junior chemistry is stupid.

Okay decision time. Do I go to game 4 for Saskatoon vs Medicine Hat tomorrow night, or do I stay home and watch the Flames vs Kings?

Flames v Kings, and I would watch the NHL game.

Clone yourself and have the clone record one of the games. Problem solved.

Haha, fixed that, and ya, I'm leaning towards that. I feel like if I go to the game and the Flames crap the bed, I'll feel like it's my fault I didn't watch, and if the Flames win, I'll be upset I missed a good game. It's kind of a lose-lose. But then I miss seeing my former teammate Cole Grbavac play.

Judging a 19-year-old Niederreiter at this stage in the game is absolutely pointless.

There is a reason he was a top-10 pick in his draft year. Not every rookie will score three goals in his first four NHL games.

I sure hope nobody was taking me seriously.

I seriously doubt either Rattie or Niederreiter would be available (that, plus Rattie has a few issues that has me question his ability to transition to the NHL)

I wouldn't mind Neiderreiter but it's a stretch. Rattie has skills but who knows how he'll end up in the NHL. Nino is still very young and has a lot of years to improve his game.

Not to de-rail the topic even further, but Nino needs a team that'll actually develop him...the Islanders kind of suck at that sort of thing (especially since they're using his ELC basically as a way to artificially reach cap floor). Rattie needs to get faster and better in his own end...he'd look a bit like a 50 point Spezza if he could work that out IMO.

More about the Winterhawks: Wotherspoon is a +2 so far.

I think Nino is really overrated. He was drafted way too high by the WangSnow gongshow.

-24 with 8 minutes of ice time is terrible. You should never be scored on that much playing so little.

To be fair, it's hard for Nino to succeed on a team that doesn't care about success.

The only reason why Nino is even in the NHL is because Wang is cheap and Nino is inexpensive.
