The folks at ACTRA sound like some kind hybrid Debbie Downer/Leech creature.
I mean really it's one commercial out of the year and clearly was based on the concept of a feel good story. I really don't think the executives behind it were thinking "hey, we pay way to much for ACTRA union members, let's find a way to side step them" and then they arrived at the flash mob idea.
Unions really have outgrown their effectiveness, when employees were working 18 hour days and being crushed to death by industrial machinery they we're obviously a reaction to deplorable working conditions and weak labour laws. But the labour laws have caught up years ago and now we've just got these money hungry middle men.
