Slumdog Millionaire was overrated. As was the Wrestler. I'm even gonna say the Dark Knight but we've had that discussion before in the Recommend a Movie thread.

underrated - Robot Chicken& Aqua Teem hunger Force.
overrated - pretty much any movie I get hyped up to watch. Almost always leave disappointed and feeling empty inside afterwards.
re: KOTH, I've given it a chance many times, watched maybe 10 - 20 episodes, and I've gotten 1 laugh in total out of the whole thing. One.

I've seen a few good KOTH episodes. The problem was that I hated almost all of the characters, especially the female characters. Made me want to tear my eyes out.
The only memorable one I can think of off the top of my head that I enjoyed was the Olympic Flame episode.

The only one I thought was kind of funny, was when the Mom and Dad went to a jazz club I think, and then started smoking. Then Bobby started. Then they all had to quit and at the breakfast table Bobby kept flicking his sausage like a cigar. That's the only laugh I've had.
Yes, I agree the female characters are annoying. You'd think the dumb blonde cute cousin would be able to generate some interest, but they have not used her talents and potential in this show, ever.

Overrated: LOST
To me Lost should be in the curriculum of acting students when they're talking about the subject of "How not to write a TV show"
It hurts even more because I actually loved the show in season 1-4. They should have just focused on Dharma and The Others. Keep story elements to the minimum and polish what you have. Horrible producers and writers.

The only show I watch on a consistent basis is The Walking Dead, and while I do enjoy it, I have to admit it is fairly overrated.

Cloverfield? If I wanted to watch a whiny 20 something walk around, I'd just tape my Saturday night.

J pold, thank you, I totally forgot about The Walking Dead.
I like the show, but this has got to be hands down the most over-rated tv show right now. The story telling and acting is just brutal. The only good parts in the show are the CGI and effects and when the zombies are on the screen. When they aren't, the show is almost un-watchable.

Ugh, UN THANKS to all of this. I might get on board with it being a tad overrated, but i still think it's a pretty damn solid show. And the scenes without the zombies are what keep me coming back week after week. The acting isn't great, but I can't agree with you on the story telling. I think it's been fantastic from start to finish.
This show is about the day to day lives of these survivors. It's the decisions that are forced upon them in this awful world that make this show interesting. It's not about the apocalypse or the zombies, that's just the setting for this great story of these characters in a world that they want no part of. As the show goes on, I'm sure more truths about what happened and a potential solution will reveal itself. We still have at least 5 seasons left.
If Walking Dead was just long chase and action scenes with guns and gore, I would have left 3 episodes in.

Considering you like Transformers 2 which is one of the worst movies in movie history, I really don't understand how you can say this show has a good story. So many things about The Walking Dead are just mediocre that I don't get all the praise the show gets. Note: It may seem as though I'm targeting you, but I'm not, a lot of people I know agree with your opinion and I just don't agree with it.
It took 7 episodes to tell a story that should have taken 4, the first season was all over the place (which I liked better than the 2nd season) that is made little to no sense.
I'm not someone who needs constant action to enjoy a show, Breaking Bad is one of my fav shows but it is slow as hell, but at least with Breaking Bad the people can act and make the slow stuff entertaining. The Walking Dead has no likable characters, some of the dialogue is absolute garbage, the acting (which I've mentioned countless times) is terrible for the most part, the plot lines are all stagnate and it took 7 episodes to advance the main story just an inch.
I still really like the show because the positives are really good, but there are so many better shows on television.

Its popularity is not due to the awesome storytelling or acting but due a craptonne of people wanting to watch a TV show about the zombie apocalypse, that they will see through the poopy acting.
I'd prefer better acting, but if its a toss up between no Walking Dead and Walking Dead with crappy acting, thats the one I'm choosing.
Its like blackberry, what a bulky plodding POS, but so many bloody people want(ed) email on their phone that it did awesome.

no, i'ts not a brilliant show by any means. At its core, it's still a fun escape from reality kind of show. But there is some good in it and I know personally, I could care less about the zombies. That's not what drives my interest. Maybe that's what drives the huge ratings, but I'm into it because of the storytelling, because of the interesting characters and because it's put a different spin on your average zombie fare. We've never had a zombie show before and with 50 plus episodes to work with, the pacing of this story is going to be a lot slower, but can also dive into more interesting character storylines.
But yes, the acting is mediocre at best, I can't debate any of that.

How did I know Transformers was going to be brought up. Guess I won't be able to shake that one huh.
Yes, there are plenty of better shows on TV right now, and Breaking Bad in the same sentence as Walking Dead is an insult to Breaking Bad.
Walking Dead gets a TON of praise and I guess if we're answering the question at hand, yeah, Walking Dead is probably a little overrated. But overrated doesn't make a show bad IMO.
